Four more PSV players to the World Cup
1 min readThe necessary PSV players can prepare for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States with their country. Morocco is also one of the participating countries in the global final tournament.
National coach Mohamed Ouahbi has made room for PSV players Ismael Saibari and Anass Salah-Eddine in his squad. Both had a good season at PSV, and this is now therefore being rewarded with a place in the World Cup squad.
The two PSV players were already in the preliminary selection for the training camp from 22 to 26 May and are therefore now also part of the final squad. At the World Cup, Morocco will face Brazil, Haiti and Scotland in Group C during the group stage.
The national team of co-host USA has also announced its squad for the 2026 World Cup. Ricardo Pepi and Sergino Dest were selected by head coach Mauricio Pochettino for the final tournament that the United States is hosting together with neighboring countries Canada and Mexico.
For Dest, it will be his second World Cup after the right-back reached the second round with Team USA in 2022 and was eliminated by the Netherlands (3-1), while for Ricardo Pepi the 2026 World Cup will be his debut at the global finals. Former PSV player Malik Tillman has also been selected by head coach Pochettino.
In addition, well-known names such as Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic are also in the mix on behalf of Team USA. The United States, as co-host, will play in Group D against Paraguay, Australia and Turkey.

"De Verenigde Staten spelen als mede-organisator in Poule D tegen Paraguay, Australië en Turkije." Dat is geen cadeau, Paraguay en Turkije kunnen veel tempo geven. Voor Tillman en Pepi wordt het dus echt zaak om meteen scherp te zijn.
Pepi en Dest bij USA is ook lekker, maar ik vind het altijd lastig wanneer jongens van PSV in een andere speelstijl terechtkomen. Hopelijk blijft Dest gewoon bij zijn rol als rechtsback-1v1 en gaat Pepi op acties richting de 16. ⚽
Poule C voor Marokko is pittig met Brazilië. Als Haïti en Schotland "makkelijk" zijn, dan moet Saibari tegen die mindere ploegen echt knallen voor minuten en vertrouwen.
PSV footprint blijft belachelijk groot, Saibari + Salah-Eddine + Dest + Pepi. Poule D voor USA lijkt op paper te doen, maar Turkije altijd gevaarlijk. Idk tbh, dat Malik Tillman erbij zit maakt het zelfs nog nicer, maar ik wil winst for PSV lads every game... bruh 🔥
Ricardo Pepi debuut op WK 2026, daar heeft PSV toch ook een vinger in de pap gehad. Als hij bij USA zijn positie snapt en niet als een losse flipper moet spelen, kan dat meteen impact geven 💯 ⚽
Hoe is het mogelijk dat Dest in 2022 met 2e ronde eruit ging door Nederland (3-1), en nu staat hij weer te shinen in Poule D? Dat voelt als een soort revanche-folie... lol 😂. Maar wel goed dat het systeem bij USA hem blijft gebruiken.

Dest naar WK 2026, maar dan alweer tegen NL in je hoofd natuurlijk. 😅 Eens kijken of PSV-voetballers daar straks beter terugkomen.

ngl, Dest weer op een WK voelt als "same story, new tournament". 2022 tegen NL was brutal (3-1) en nu zit hij gewoon weer in het vuur. Hoop dat Pochettino hem laat spelen i.p.v. als knopjeswissel, waneer PSV-kwaliteit zichtbaar wordt.
"in de definitieve selectie" wow, dat is toch echt peak PSV talent development. Tbh is dit precies waarom ik vond dat we in de zomer niet te makkelijk wilden verkopen, deze jongens zijn nog maar net op gang.
Marokko in Poule C tegen Brazilië en Schotland is geen makkie. Als Saibari daar zijn acties durft te nemen, dan wordt het spannend, want die wedstrijden vragen om tempo en lef 👀.
Saibari en Salah-Eddine in de WK-selectie is echt verdiend, they both deserved the reward for that PSV season. Benieuwd of Ouahbi ze meteen vertrouwen geeft, want Poule C is niet makkelijk met Brazilië en Schotland. ❤️⚽
Ismael Saibari verdient dit echt, die energy op het midden is zo belangrijk. Benieuwd of Ouahbi hem als nummer 8 durft te gebruiken of meer als aanspeelpunt. ❤️
Saibari en Salah-Eddine bij Marokko, dat is echt top nieuws. Hopelijk krijgen ze daar ook minuten want bij PSV lieten ze dingen zien. 🚀🐐
Dest tweede WK en dan tegelijk zien dat Malik Tillman ook geselecteerd is... nice, maar voor PSV hoop ik wel dat onze spelers minuten maken en fit blijven. Anders heb je straks weer gedoe met opbouw.
Poule C is brutal for Morocco. Brazil is obviously a mountain, but Schotland might be the one to watch. If Saibari starts, thats a big statement.
Saibari en Salah-Eddine naar het WK, dat is echt verdiend 🔥. Was voor ons al duidelijk dat ze niet alleen leuk zijn in de Eredivisie, maar ook kunnen knallen op dat niveau.
Nice reward for Saibari and Salah-Eddine, they really earned that. I just hope Ouahbi gives them minutes so they come back sharper for PSV.
