NOS reporter points to Mark van Bommel | 'Learn a language yourself'

Mark van Bommel was officially appointed as head coach of Belgium last weekend, and Van Bommel immediately has to deal with the situation surrounding goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Van Bommel has to make important decisions because Courtois indicated after the World Cup that he does not want to play for the Red Devils for a while.

According to NOS reporter Jeroen Stekelenburg, it’s also not out of the question that the PSV icon will go hard for Real Madrid’s goalkeeper. Stekelenburg says this to the Belgian Sporza.

''It can go either way. I see Van Bommel giving Courtois, a star, quite a bit of space. On the other hand, there is also Senne Lammens, a youngster who was so good at Manchester United over the past year'', says the NOS reporter.

According to Stekelenburg, the decision that Van Bommel is going to make will also depend on the development of Lammens. ''I think the message from Van Bommel will be: the door remains open. Stekelenburg also believes that the former midfielder is an excellent national team coach for Belgium. ''At the World Cup it was, of course, very complicated for you with Rudi Garcia. In every match he did something different. That can also be interesting, but Van Bommel will bring more clarity and a recognizable team'', said the reporter, who receives a lot of support from Belgian fans.
