Peter Bosz speaks out: “Then they will keep going.”
1 min readUnlike Ajax, PSV has taken things fairly calmly on the transfer market so far. Up to now, the club’s management has only brought in Sven Mijnans from AZ, but among by far the largest part of the PSV fan base, the call for defensive reinforcements is very strong.
Besides, the question still remains as to what will happen, for example, with Joey Veerman and Sergino Dest. Like captain Mauro Junior, both players have a release clause in their contract, which means they can be picked up out of the Philips Stadium for a specific amount.
Mauro has already said to Eindhovens Dagblad earlier that his focus is currently only on PSV and that he does not think about a move. Head coach Peter Bosz has also spoken out to Voetbal International about the summer transfer window.
Bosz says he takes into account both incoming and outgoing transfers. ''It’s now just a little different from after my first season. Certain players may leave if they are paid for. But if not, then they will stay. And that is with a different mindset than when they are blocked. In the end, there will still be transfers coming this summer'', the coach tells VI.
According to Bosz, his team will face two major challenges in 2026/2027. Reducing the number of goals conceded and forming the team without Ismael Saibari and a large part of the season without Jerdy Schouten.
''The most important thing is that we had 45 conceded goals, far too many for a champion. That number needs to go down. The challenge is to put together a better team without Ismael Saibari and without Jerdy Schouten. Because in Jerdy’s case, every match he plays for us is a bonus. He has to recover well and take the time to do so'', continues the 62-year-old coach.
The coach also speaks about the successors of Saibari and Schouten. ''Ismael and Jerdy have played a major role over the past three years. Sven Mijnans and Ismael cannot be compared to each other; they both have unique qualities. It is up to us to ensure that the players who will be playing together do better than they have so far'', Bosz said.

Gakpo was doing the right things, but im not convinced about the finishing. Too many chances looked like they were meant for highlights, not for points lol 😂
"Inside PSV" and they still wont address the defensive transitions? Smh. If they want titles they need to look calmer when the ball turns over, not just win the ball and hope.
I think the article is underselling the risk. If the wingers tuck in like that, you basically force the play through the middle, and teams with a proper 10 will punish it 💀
"pressing higher" is fine but PSV need a better plan when they get bypassed. The last 15 minutes looked shaky, and that scares me for tougher opponents.
That midfield setup is either peak control or pure chaos depending on how fast they win the second ball. tbh, i want Sangare to cover more ground, because the space between the lines looked painful 👀
tbh the main issue is spacing. If the fullbacks step up, the winger has to stay narrow, otherwise opponents just play between the lines. Wonder why PSV keep doing the same thing every game 🤡

I think the quote about "pressing higher" sounds great but im not convinced it wont leave gaps in transition. When we lose it, the back line has to cover too much 😅
If PSV really played that high press, i can see why Gakpo would be the spark up top. But dont leave the fullbacks alone on the counter, thats where it gets spicy fast 🔥
If PSV played like this, thats huge pressure on the league 🔥. But i gotta see if the midfield can control the second ball consistently, otherwise itll get ugly after 60 mins.
