Peter Bosz points to PSV youth and has something to say about the level
1 min readPeter Bosz has spoken positively about the developments within PSV’s youth. Bosz says this in an interview with Voetbal International.
The coach believes that PSV now has more talent than in any other year that the born Apeldoorn native stands on the touchline at the Philips Stadium. Bosz therefore also expects that more talents will start to present themselves to PSV in the coming period.
Above all, Noah Fernandez appears to be set to get more minutes in 2026/2027, and Fabian Merién, Joël van den Berg, and Tijn Smolenaars have also already been promoted to PSV’s first team. ''The level of the youth players is higher than in all the other years I was here'', the coach says to VI.
Even during last week's training camp in Germany, more talents were given the chance to show their qualities to Bosz. Now PSV is preparing for the Light City derby against its city rival FC Eindhoven.
Bosz thinks that more talents will be knocking on the door at PSV soon. ''I see a lot of potential and talent in the boys who are training with us. There will absolutely be a number of them who will join in, start playing, and maybe even other boys from the starting lineup will get to play,'' the coach concludes.

Idk waarom sommige mensen doen alsof jeugd alleen maar leuk is. If Bosz merkt dat het niveau hoger is, dan betekent het ook dat de lat hoger ligt. Dat is goed, maar dan moeten we dus ook accepteren dat er af en toe fouten vallen. 👀
Tijn Smolenaars, Merién, Van den Berg... logisch dat hij ziet dat de doorstroming nu beter gaat. Ik hoop wel dat Bosz niet alleen kansen geeft, maar ze ook echt vertrouwen laat krijgen als het lastig wordt. 🔥
"meer talenten zullen zich aanbieden bij PSV" klinkt als muziek, maar ik geloof pas als het op het veld staat. Dit is wél een goed teken dat Bosz ziet dat de basis ook sneller kan oplopen. 👀
Bosz saying "Het niveau van de jeugdspelers is hoger dan in alle andere jaren" is music to my ears. Als Noah Fernandez echt minuten gaat krijgen in 2026/2027, ben ik benieuwd wie er dan op die plek moet wijken.
Ik ben blij met de focus op jeugd, maar ik wil wel weten wie er straks minuten krijgt in de Lichtstadderby. Van den Berg en Smolenaars overgezet naar de hoofdmacht is goed, maar ik hoop dat Bosz ze niet alleen "meetraint" en daarna toch weer terugzet.
Bosz zegt dus "het niveau van de jeugdspelers is hoger dan in alle andere jaren dat ik hier was". Als dat echt zo is, dan moeten Fernandez en Merién nu ook echt stappen maken, geen praatjes. 🔥
