Sevilla, FC Porto and Leeds United | Guus Til leaves PSV for a limited transfer fee
1 min readRecently, Eindhovens Dagblad reported that FC Porto is interested in Mauro Júnior. It is known that the Brazilian may perhaps still want to embark on a foreign adventure one more time, although a lifetime with PSV also appeals to him.
Meanwhile, Italian coach Francesco Farioli is eyeing the Brazilian all-rounder. FC Porto is now concrete in the market for Mauro Júnior, where earlier it was precisely Benfica of Roger Schmidt that was interested in Mauro Júnior.

The Eindhoven newspaper assumes roughly fifteen million euros. However, PSV is not willing to cooperate with a transfer and is betting on another longer stay for Mauro Júnior. Meanwhile, Leeds United and Sevilla are pursuing Mauro Júnior, so the question is whether he will still be playing for PSV next season.
Peter Bosz and the management would like to keep Mauro Júnior in Eindhoven for longer, but if buyout fees have been agreed, this will not be so easy yet. According to the Eindhoven Daily, in a new contract there should actually be no escape clause included. However, it appears there are multiple players with a limited buyout fee. This was revealed by Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij on Friday afternoon.

If Mauro Júnior really has a capped buyout around 15-18m, PSV should not act surprised when Porto and Leeds come knocking. Bosz can say "he won't decide our level", but the board still has to live with the contract setup.
tbh, als Mauro echt iets heeft van "15 of 18 miljoen" dan is dat niet bepaald een lage prijs. Gewoon accepteren en hem voor Bosz laten staan kan ook, maar als Til ineens gelimiteerde afkoopsom heeft dan moet je daar ook eerlijk mee omgaan.
15 miljoen klinkt als een nette deal, maar PSV gaat nu echt op de stoel van de speler zitten. Als er geen ontsnappingsclausule in een nieuw contract komt, dan wordt het alsnog onderhandelen en dat is gewoon frustrerend.
Valentijn Driessen zei dat het niveau niet inzakt als Mauro wegvalt, maar het is wel cap dat Veerman ook een gelimiteerde afkoopsom heeft. Als Til ook zo'n afkoopsom heeft, dan is dit basically een vertrek-plan. 👀
Wat me vooral stoort: eerst roepen we 18 miljoen, dan blijkt het rond 15, en ondertussen jagen Sevilla en Leeds door. Als PSV Mauro laat lopen voor "iets uit mijn hoofd", dan is dat echt miscommunicatie tussen beleid en contracten. Breng dan in ieder geval zekerheid dat die gelimiteerde afkoopsommen niet een achterdeur zijn.
Valentijn Driessen zegt "het zou heel treurig zijn als dat het niveau is", maar ik snap ook wel dat Mauro niet goedkoop mag verdwijnen. Als Guus Til echt ook zo'n afkoopsom heeft, dan is het blijkbaar beleid geworden. Dan hoop ik dat PSV Farioli nu echt opneemt in de plannen, en niet als tussenstap. 🔥
i swear, PSV gaat nu dus onderhandelen terwijl Porto/Leeds/Sevilla al klaarstaan. Tbh dat contract zonder ontsnappingsclausule en toch gelimiteerde sommen... weird, maar wel typisch business. 🔥
15 miljoen als "richtbedrag" klinkt best realistisch, maar als er clausules met gelimiteerde transfersommen zijn, dan is PSV echt zelf aan het stuur trekken aan de competitie. Als Mauro gaat, moet er meteen een starter-type terugkomen, geen invulling.
15 miljoen en dan kan Porto of Leeds toch gewoon halen? Dat PSV "niet wil meewerken" klinkt mooi, maar als er een gelimiteerde afkoopsom in het contract zit is het gewoon rekenen en schuiven. 👀
