Isaac Babadi in the spotlight with PhD candidate

1 min read

After a dazzling debut in 2023, a bright future was predicted for Isaac Babadi at PSV. Three years later, however, the situation is completely different for the midfielder.

Last season, Babadi was loaned to Royal Antwerp FC, and in the second half of the season the PSV player saw very little action for the Belgian club. As a result, Babadi has returned to PSV, but has no prospect of a place in Peter Bosz's squad.

That has clearly been demonstrated by Bosz this week, as Babadi is not going on the training camp to Germany. The midfielder is therefore training with Jong PSV and the club is willing to cooperate on a new loan period.

In addition, a definitive departure is certainly not out of the question either. Among others, PhD student and fellow provincial native Willem II is said to be interested in bringing Babadi to Tilburg.

That reports Tilbo.com, a fan site of the Tricolores. ''For the forward line, Axel Dongen of Ajax and Babadi of PSV are explicitly in the spotlight'', as can be read in the supporters site article.

Willem II managed to win promotion last season by settling matters with FC Volendam on penalties in the final. As a result, the Tilburg side, together with PSV, are the two clubs representing North Brabant in the Eredivisie in the 2026/2027 season, since NAC Breda was relegated to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie last season.

Ik vind het pijnlijk dat Babadi nu al richting Jong PSV geschoven wordt. Als je het hebt over groeipotentieel, dan snap je niet waarom Bosz hem niet als optie meeneemt in Duitsland. 🔥
