Valentijn Driessen points to PSV icon: 'It's about time, too'

Since the summer of 2024, PSV icon Mark van Bommel has still been without a club after Van Bommel and Royal Antwerp FC went their separate ways. In recent days, the former PSV coach has also been mentioned in Belgian media as a serious option for the Belgium national team coaching position.

According to Valentijn Driessen, a journalist for De Telegraaf, it is time for the PSV icon to get back to work in football. Driessen says this in the program Vandaag Inside Oranje on SBS6.

''In Belgium, that’s what they call it, so it must have come from somewhere. Just like here everyone talks about Arne Slot. It’s also about time that he goes and starts working for his money again,'' the journalist says about the rumors surrounding Van Bommel.

Johan Derksen still sees a great coach in the former midfielder. ''"I still see a good coach in him. I think he has everything,'' responds Derksen.

Then Driessen responds to De Snor's words. ''Yes, but he has been standing still for two years. For two years he has been doing absolutely nothing, after that Antwerp. Then you would think that he would want to get back to work, but apparently he is still also picky,'' says the reporter.

Also René van der Gijp joins the discussion and points to his son Ruben as well. ''Wasn’t he also dealing with his son? Didn’t he want to guide him?
