Again a lot of annoyance over NOS commentary at World Cup match former PSV player: 'Definitely not worth listening to'
1 min readAt almost every match at the World Cup in North America, the NOS commentator among the Dutch supporters is a source of irritation. So was the case with the match between Argentina and England, with former PSV player Noni Madueke in the squad, and Jeroen Grueter, who provided the commentary on behalf of NOS, during that game.
Madueke was eliminated on Wednesday evening in the semi-final against England by the reigning world champion. The winger spent the entire match on the bench and watched as The Three Lions, despite taking a 1-0 lead, still had to bow 1-2 to the Argentinians, causing the English once again to miss out on the World Cup final.
On the social media platform X, there was a lot of backlash during the match against the commentator, and many fans in particular were annoyed that Grueter would side with the Argentines. A selection of the reactions:

Grueter die de hele wedstrijd meezingt met Argentinië, echt niet om aan te horen. Ik snap dat je moet vertellen wat je ziet, maar dit was gewoon te biased.
Bro echt die NOS man die klapt altijd voor de tegenstander, tbh. Als je zegt dat het "echt niet om aan te horen" is dan snap ik die frustratie wel. Noni Madueke zat de hele tijd op de bank, en dan krijg je ook nog partijdig commentaar.
