“No new transfer coup for PSV”

1 min read

In recent weeks, PSV has been frequently mentioned by various media as a possible new destination for former Germany international Julian Brandt. Since his departure from Borussia Dortmund, Brandt has been without a club and is receiving interest from multiple clubs.

In addition to PSV, Ajax was also linked by various media to the German midfielder. Brandt spent the 2018/2019 season for another half year under Peter Bosz at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Nonetheless, there will be no new cooperation between Bosz and Brandt at PSV. Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio writes this.

According to Di Marzio, Brandt is on his way to England to play football in the Premier League. However, it is not stated at which club that midfielder will play.

It was also previously reported that, among others, AS Roma and Juventus were interested in the midfielder who played for Borussia Dortmund from 2019 to 2026. They were keen to take advantage of the fact that Brandt is available on a free transfer.

Still, the former international from Die Mannschaft seems to be on his way to England, and that means PSV may be able to forget about the arrival of the midfielder. In 2020, PSV managed to pull off a surprise by signing world champion Mario Götze on a free transfer, and in 2024 with World Cup finalist Ivan Perisic, but a new transfer coup now seems a long way off.

Bruno Martins Indi mention or not, the real issue is always the right side transitions. when they counter us down the flank, it feels like we are one step late every time... smh 💀

Luuk de Jong doing the link-up work is still useful, but we cant rely on him to create everything. we need more from the wide areas, otherwise it becomes super predictable. 👀

"PSV Inside" is spot on about the pressing triggers. when our front 4 step up together, defenders panic and the ball gets won higher, but if one man lags, the whole shape falls apart. 🔥

tbh PSV look so much better when the midfield actually connects with Xavi Simons, not just passing sideways. if he drops too deep it kills the vertical runs, and then you see us struggle to break lines.
