Zlatan Ibrahimović drags a former PSV player through the mud: “Just walk along a bit”
1 min readThe 2026 World Cup is now at the semi-finals stage. On Tuesday, the match France - Spain is on the calendar, and on Wednesday reigning world champion Argentina will face England.
The English reached the semi-finals on Saturday night Dutch time thanks to two goals by Jude Bellingham against Norway (1-2). At The Three Lions, former PSV player Noni Madueke has had plenty of minutes at this World Cup.
Against the Norwegians as well, Madueke started, but made little impression, and in the second half the winger had to shift to the side. Former world striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw it too.
Ibrahimovic is working at the World Cup as an analyst for the American FOX Sports and has harsh words for Madueke. ''As long as Madueke is on the pitch, I feel that England is actually playing with one man less. Every time he gets the ball, he makes the wrong choice. Besides, he just jogs around,'' says a critical Ibrahimovic.
Even after the first drinking break, the attacker failed to make an impression on the Swede. ''He never really got into the match. If I were Tuchel, I would take him off. In the first 45 minutes, he showed absolutely nothing,'' said the analyst.

Zlatan zegt dat Engeland met een man minder speelt, maar bij Engeland lag het tempo en de controle ook niet altijd top. Noni had gewoon een slechte wedstrijd, na die drinkpauze was het nog meer kwijt. Idk of wisselen de oplossing is, of dat hij gewoon tijd nodig heeft om scherp te worden.
"Hij loopt er maar een beetje bij" is pijnlijk eerlijk... maar tbh dit is precies waarom fans twijfelen bij zijn rendement. Als hij in de basis staat, moet hij ook impact maken. Anders ben je inderdaad constant aan het managen.
Madueke speelde tegen Noorwegen echt niet goed, maar "een man minder" is wel weer Zweden-niveau drama van Zlatan. 👀 Toch snap ik de frustratie, die verkeerde keuzes zagen we echt terug.
