“Many left-backs on PSV’s wish list, also called former Feyenoorder”

1 min read

It may be clear that PSV will have to make a serious push to find defensive reinforcements for the 2026/2027 season. Earlier, Anass Salah-Eddine already returned to AS Roma and, in addition, Armando Obispo and Adamo Nagalo will also leave Eindhoven.

In addition, captain Jerdy Schouten, who last season was pushed back by Peter Bosz to the position of center-back, has been ruled out until the beginning of 2027. In the meantime, PSV has several left-back defenders on their list or has been offered them.

That reports the Eindhoven Daily. Among others, Adam Aznou from Everton FC would be on the list as an option for the left-back position.

Aznoу currently does not seem to have the highest priority for the technical director, Earnest Stewart. Former Feyenoord player Hugo Bueno reportedly has also been offered to PSV.

Bueno was still active on a loan basis for Feyenoord in 2024/2025 and is now under contract with the relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers. The ED outlines that two or three new defenders will be brought in and that young Fabian Merién from Peter Bosz will be given the chance to make his mark with PSV’s first team.

Quoting "control the tempo" is nice, but against teams that sit deep we need more than just patience. Get the wide players to isolate, dont just recycle it. It should be 2-3 clear chances, not vibes.

I like the idea of the fullbacks pushing higher, but please dont leave the center of the back four 1v1 so often. Cody Gakpo pressing better too, thats what makes it work. 🔥

If PSV are planning to press like that in midfield, it will either be peak or a disaster. tbh the moment we lose the second ball, their transition kills us. 👀
