Johan Derksen takes aim at PSV over their transfer status: “Has it gone too far in the air?”
1 min readJohan Derksen is, to put it mildly, still not a fan of PSV player Joey Veerman. Derksen said this again earlier this week on Vandaag Inside Oranje.
Where it was feared at PSV that there would be a sell-off of the key players, so far only Ismael Saibari has been sold to FC Bayern Munich. Joey Veerman and Mauro Junior are therefore still under contract with PSV despite their transfer clauses, as is Sergino Dest.
That nothing concrete is happening around Veerman yet does not surprise De Snor at all. ''He seems to be quite picky. There must be clubs he wants to go to and that seems to be quite a problem'', says Telegraaf journalist Valentijn Driessen when it is said that the midfielder has been open to a new challenge for some time now.
De rader again responds. ''He really has his head a bit too high, that boy'', after which Driessen replies: ''He’s thinking about the lower end of the top tier in Italy or Spain, but they’re not waiting for him there.''
Even during the broadcasts of Vandaag Inside in Curaçao, De Snor made it clear that he is not a fan of Veerman. During a heated discussion with sports marketer Chris Woerts, Derksen couldn’t help but give the PSV player a good dressing-down.
''Joey Veerman can play well against Excelsior and Willem II, but in Oranje you’ve got nothing!'' and ''He never performs in important matches. It’s always against puny opponents with passes or a long-range shot: you can’t win the war with that!'', the oracle from Grolloo complained among other things about Veerman.

Die uitspraak dat hij alleen presteert tegen "lullige tegenstanders" slaat nergens op tbh. In wedstrijden waar het echt moest, levert hij ook gewoon en hij kiest z'n moment. Driessen kan blijven roepen maar dat PSV hem nog heeft zegt ook genoeg.
Derksen doet weer alsof Veerman alleen nuttig is tegen Excelsior... In de organisatie is hij juist vaak de motor. Als hij "te hoog in de bol" zit, vraag ik me af waarom iedereen dan alsnog over hem wil praten. #PSV
"Hij heeft het echt een beetje te hoog in zijn bol" is echt zo'n typische De Snor-slag. Maar tbh: als je transferclausules hebt en clubs willen je niet, dan is het niet alleen zijn eigen schuld. Driessen roept altijd dat subtop niet zit te wachten, maar PSV beslist ook waar die spelers heen gaan. 👀
Derksen kletst echt weer hoor. Veerman speelt gewoon zijn rol en je kan niet alleen beoordelen op "grote" wedstrijden, zeker niet als PSV soms ook niet de controle heeft. Als er belangstelling is, is dat toch juist omdat hij waarde heeft, niet omdat hij "kieskeurig" is.
