RC Lens showed interest in PSV defender last winter
1 min readLast summer, PSV signed Kiliann Sildillia from SC Freiburg and the right-back had this season to rely mainly on substitute and cameo appearances. Due to an injury to Sergino Dest, the back has been starting a lot more recently and he was also good for a goal in the matches they lost against NEC (2-3) and Telstar (3-1).
It had not taken much for the wing defender to have left last winter for his home country. According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, RC Lens, two seasons ago still an opponent of PSV in the Champions League group stage, had shown interest in taking over Sildillia from PSV. However, PSV’s management went for this transfer.
''For example, last winter the French club RC Lens was interested in him, but of course he stayed with PSV'', writes PSV watcher Rik Elfrink in the ED. ''Sildillia represents a transfer value of an expected 8 to 10 million euros'', Elfrink continues.
Despite the fact that the Frenchman is not a regular starter, PSV does not want to let him go next summer. Especially because it is likely that Dest will leave Eindhoven this summer and has also stated his desire to do so out loud.

With the departure of Dest, PSV will also go back on the transfer market for a new right back who would then have to compete for a spot with Sildillia. The Frenchman still has a future at PSV despite the fact that he is not yet an undisputed regular starter.
