Peter Bosz reveals message received: “Third championship actually because of me”

He left PSV some time ago but that doesn't make him any less a true PSV fan. In Monaco, he gets his minutes after the local pride AS Monaco took him over from PSV for almost 10 million euros.

A return to PSV still seems likely to happen at some point, but for now everything is building momentum with Jordan Teze in Monaco. His club, of course, keeps being followed closely by him, and so Teze aimed his sights at Peter Bosz after winning the third league title in a row.

In conversation with De Telegraaf, Bosz shares the contents of Teze's message from France. A few days after winning the league title with PSV, Bosz received a funny message from Teze, Bosz reveals in an interview with De Telegraaf. 

'Congratulations on the championship. It was indeed very easy this year, but still deserved. Don't forget that I am the foundation of the tactics and that this third championship is really also down to me. Well done, coach', said Teze to Bosz after winning the league title number three.

Bosz immediately knew what Teze meant. In his first weeks at PSV right after the departure of Xavi Simons, the coach from Apeldoorn was not immediately satisfied with the intensity of his right back. As a result, Teze was not allowed to start right away in the run of friendly matches. "He had understood the message. Instead of being angry, he said he would show it in training", Bosz looks back. "In the end, he started playing everything."

According to Bosz, several players have improved over the past season, but above all Joey Veerman has taken big steps. Let the coach know. "Veerman received a lot of criticism from outside. He went to work on that. He has become much more consistent. He has always been decisive with his passing. This season, he also won many second balls. Feeling where a ball will land is different from winning duels. If he doesn’t pick up that ball, we as a team have to chase after it for a long time."
