Analysts would love to see Peter Bosz in Oranje: “That was the perfect path”
1 min readOn 1 February, Peter Bosz, after the match PSV - Feyenoord (3-0), announced that the head coach had extended his contract with PSV until mid-2028. In the weeks leading up to that, there were in particular many speculations in the media and in the analysts’ world about whether Bosz would extend his contract or not.
Now that Ronald Koeman earlier this week said he will stop as head coach of the Dutch national team, more and more voices are also suggesting that PSV's current manager is the ideal candidate for the Oranje head coach position. Among others, Hugo Borst and Valentijn Driessen believe that Bosz is the ideal candidate despite his contract extension with PSV.
Also at Studio Oranje, people are still calling for Peter Bosz as national coach. According to former footballer Kaj Ramsteijn, the KNVB should have informed about Bosz much earlier.
''I had always done that. That was the perfect path, the ideal successor. I also very much had the idea that Bosz had an ear for it. I thought he waited quite a long time to extend his contract at PSV. With PSV, I would have said: do you want it now or not? Unfathomable'', says Ramsteijn.
Former defender Timo Letschert also sees the current PSV coach as an ideal candidate and says that Bosz at PSV actually has nothing left to win. ''Also because he had such a good spell at PSV. Actually, he doesn't have much more to win there. For him, it's a great exit; he has done a top job. His style of play has been perfected—he now wins trophies and he has the perfect age'', Letschert said.

Letschert zegt dat Bosz bij PSV "niks meer te winnen" heeft. Na een topperiode en prijzen lijkt dat logisch, maar ik vind dit ook een beetje raar. Wat als PSV straks nog een stap extra maakt in Europa, dan is het juist wél iets te winnen.
"Dat was het perfecte pad" zegt Ramsteijn... tbh hadden ze bij de KNVB eerder moeten schakelen. Bosz stond toch al te hoog op de radar, dus idd zonde dat het zo lang geduurd heeft.
Bosz als bondscoach voelt tbh als de logische stap. Hij heeft bij PSV echt zijn systeem geslepen en prijzen gepakt, dus als iemand Oranje kan herpakken is het wel deze man. En idk, dat "perfecte pad" klinkt gewoon kloppend na die verlenging tot 2028.
Ik snap de hype, maar Oranje is geen verlenging van PSV. Koeman stopt, oké, maar Bosz heeft met PSV al bewezen dat druk en structuur werken, bij de selectie wordt het toch anders. Toch zou ik het risico wel durven nemen, want zijn speelwijze is echt een banger voor winnende teams.
Bosz tot 2028 verlengd na PSV-Feyenoord (3-0), en nu alweer "perfecte opvolger" richting Oranje. Begrijp het wel tbh, zijn voetbal is gewoon volwassen en herkenbaar.
