Johan Derksen, dead and dead-tiring…
1 min readJohan Derksen, at 77, is still boasting about the attention. More than he himself thinks, at any rate. His age? Impressive, to still be so sharp at that age, but if at the same time you don't realize that from time to time you are really completely exhausting, then maybe it's time to look in the mirror again. What does this have to do with PSV? For the moment nothing...except that Derksen does point to Peter Bosz...
Johan Derksen has responded in his podcast Groeten uit Grolloo to his indiscretion with Wilfred Genee on Vandaag Inside last week. The Snor thinks that his colleague more or less disqualified him by saying that, as a 77-year-old, he is no longer allowed to talk about sex. "I think he’s a very good presenter, but beyond that I have absolutely nothing to do with him."
Derksen and Genee collided last Thursday during the broadcast of VI. The former then made a sexually suggestive remark, after which the presenter pointed out his age and playfully called him to order. "You are 77, it can be a little less," Genee said to Derksen, who reacted frustratedly. "That’s a hypocritical remark and it makes no sense. You don’t get to decide what I talk about."
"So because I’m 77, am I no longer allowed to discuss certain topics? Don’t get smart with me", Derksen said in a tone that was typical of him. Genee: "Oh, what happens then?" Derksen: "You know how I feel about you. Then you’ll get a slap across the face from me one time." The TV personality addresses the exchange again in his podcast on Monday, and it turned out he hasn’t cooled off yet.

"I was very pissed off. It’s not good to express that on TV, but on the other hand that’s the charm of the show. Wilfred said: A man of 77 shouldn’t talk about sex on TV. In doing so, he actually, in my opinion, said that I’m not suited for this talk show. Someone sitting at a talk show table must be able to talk about everything", said Derksen. "I also don’t know why at 77 I wouldn’t be allowed to talk about sex anymore. There are no rules." The opinion maker believes that 'the woke family reasons that way'.
"If your own presenter finds that you’re unsuited for this talk show, then I’m pissed off. Then Talpa has to throw me out. In his enthusiasm, Wilfred forgot that he’s the one who brings up the topics. Goedele Liekens was with us, and she studies the concept of 'beffen'. We had a video about that", Derksen explains. "Wilfred brought it up because he likes attention-grabbing topics. I took it seriously and, as an expert by experience, I said something about it."
"I think Wilfred is the best presenter in the Netherlands, you hear. It’s not about that. But I don’t think he should portray people from his own show as people who don’t function, using my age as an argument. They all know that I am 77. If that is a problem for the program or the people at the table, they should say so. Then I’m gone today. Otherwise, I’m only dealing with John de Mol", says Derksen, who speaks of 'pure age discrimination'. "Until what age am I allowed to talk about sex?"
"Are there any more topics where, as a 77-year-old, I am not allowed to talk? I think I have the most life experience of all. I talk about everything and decide for myself what I talk about." There’s no point in working out the disagreement with Genee, says Derksen. "With Wilfred you can hardly have a conversation. That’s the problem. Wilfred thinks he’s in the right, and when you have a conversation with him, he’s on his phone. I always wonder whether he’s actually interested in it. I think he’s a very good presenter, but other than that I have absolutely nothing to do with him."
Meanwhile, Derksen still seems to be preaching that he has some football knowledge, and yes, why not. As a former pro, the picky first-class complainer also has an opinion about the succession of Ronald Koeman. Once again, Derksen comes back to Peter Bosz, who he would have him sign a pre-contract in advance so that after his employment at PSV he can take up a position at the KNVB. And until that moment, the summer of 2028, Ron Jans would have to take over the baton from Ronald Koeman. Of which, acknowledgement Johan...

As a rival watcher, I admit PSV look dangerous when they play forward quickly. But if they keep giving the ball away centrally, we will punish that all day. 😂
Im not convinced by the rotation they mention. Big games need the same core, otherwise you lose patterns and timing, and that costs points.💀
Goalll if the article is hinting at that pressing trigger, thats peak PSV. Malen needs to run the channels, dont slow it down when the chance is there. 🚀
"PSV Inside" always makes it sound so confident, but I still think the wing balance is off. When the fullback steps in, there has to be cover. Otherwise it is just asking for trouble...
"PSV Inside" has nailed the key point tbh: the transition moments decide games. When the fullback pinches at the right time it looks dangerous, but when it is a half-step late, it is chaos defensively 👀
tbh i like the attacking idea, but defensively we still leak transitions way too easily. If this is the plan, i hope Schouten sits a bit deeper and protects the space behind. 🔥
PSV must stop playing so upright defensively, the space between the lines is getting punished. I love the attacking intent, but without better pressing triggers, it feels like we concede chances for free 💀
If PSV really want to be more proactive in the build-up, they need to fix that first-pass quality. Right now opponents step in too easily and it turns into a scramble in midfield. Still, Noni and the wingers can turn it into a highlight if the tempo is right 🔥
If PSV goes with this setup, the midfield has to control the second balls. Love the intent, but without intensity there, it gets chaotic fast. 👀
