Peter Bosz clear about the upcoming transfer: “That’s clear”

1 min read

Peter Bosz was a guest on Monday evening on Rondo on Ziggo Sport. The serious injury to captain Jerdy Schouten was also discussed there.

Schouten suffered a serious injury on 4 April of this year in the home match against FC Utrecht (4-3) and sustained a severe ACL injury, which means the captain will be sidelined until at least the beginning of 2027. Bosz confirmed to Rondo that PSV is going to bring in a replacement for the captain.

Due to this injury, Schouten will also have to miss the upcoming World Cup with the Netherlands national team. ''That is clear. It has to be, because we will probably be without Jerdy for a very large part of the next season'', Bosz is clear in Rondo.

After that, the coach of presenter Wytse van der Goot is asked whether this signing will be a midfielder or a defender, and Bosz responds in his own way to how he views this reinforcement. ''Like a good footballer'', the trainer makes it clear.

After that, Bosz goes into his answer in more depth. ''I’d rather have good footballers in the defensive positions. Then defending can be something less. Because then we don’t lose the ball and then you don’t get conceded goals. Our full-backs, for example, can play brilliantly. Often when you pass the ball to the full-backs, the opponent presses. But our full-backs can easily get out of that, for example,'' the coach said.
