At Ajax - FC Utrecht, it sounds like: “Just get Stewart over here.”
1 min readOnce again an excellent match on his part after also delivering a good performance last Thursday. FC Utrecht full-back Souffian El Karouani can be described as ultra-fit, and this is clearly reflected in his match statistics and overall performances this season.
Valentijn Driessen, on the other hand, is precisely not a fan of the defender of the Domstedelingen. Driessen thinks Souffian El Karouani is a fine player, but who cannot defend. Thus, Valentijn Driessen. The reality is different, because the defender has also been able to record enough defensive interceptions this season, alongside his attacking impulses. An assist and a goal, and many defensive yards, were the result against Heerenveen, and in the match against Ajax in Volendam, he even topped it off.
Many PSV fans are also therefore urging Earnie Stewart to take action. For months now, it has been known that Souffian El Karouani can be picked up on a free transfer next summer, but neither PSV, nor Feyenoord, nor Ajax seem to be taking action. The left-back of FC Utrecht appears to be about to sign with Al Qadsiyah in Saudi Arabia.
'Stewart, pick him up at FC Utrecht', a PSV fan posts on X. 'It's a shame, though, that we couldn't keep El Karouani for the Eredivisie', writes another. @PSVTwan also urges Stewart. “'Get El Karouani but pick him up with Stewart, I'm done', you hear on X.

Meanwhile, PSV is still in talks with the loaned Anass Salah-Eddine about a longer and definitive stay at PSV, but that definitely has not been going smoothly up to now.

Tbh I still think the right wing lacks end product. If the article is pointing at that change, i agree, but it needs to be immediate, not a 'we will improve' thing.
Wie kijkt mee? 👀😂
"We need more intensity" is fine, but intensity without structure turns into chaos. Put the winger in earlier and it fixes a lot, ngl ⚽
Goal!! If the midfield keeps turning like that, the wingers will feast. Lets see how we react when the tempo drops, thats where it usually decides the game 🥇
"PSV inside" is my favorite vibe, but todays setup felt a bit mid defensively lol. The quote about taking risks is true, just do it with better cover. Otherwise thats how you concede straight counters 💀
I swear every time PSV try to play out from the back under pressure, i get nervous. The article talks about patience, but with our turnover risk, we need more clear triggers to slow it down and not give it away 🤬
I like the intent, but we need more control in the final third. Luuk de Jong holding up play is nice, yet we cant rely on scraps every time. Maybe we should rotate and add more pace behind him 👀
I actually think the tactical tweak is spot on. The article implies we are targeting the half-space more, and that is where our best combinations start. If Luuk de Jong gets a little more service, this becomes a different level 👀
Wie kijkt mee? because the game plan better not be "just vibes" again.
The midfield balance looked off in the article. If Sangare is expected to do everything, we are basically begging for a counter every time the ball is lost 💀
If PSV are starting that aggressive press again, i love it. But we need Gakpo to drop into those pockets otherwise the build-up turns into panic passes 🔥
If PSV press like that, we win way more second balls. But im worried the right side gets exposed when the fullback jumps in. Still, that link-up in midfield looked fire 🔥⚽
No hate, but if PSV play like this, Sangaré has to be the first one on the press. The buildup looked shaky until he offered that simple outlet.
