Transfer reporter impressed: 'PSV spoke with him last summer'
1 min readNormally he would no longer be considered to come and strengthen the PSV ranks, but football is unpredictable, we all know that.
PSV contacted the player agent and former club of Norwegian left winger Sondre Ørjasæter several times last summer. In the end, PSV decided to open their wallet and take over Ruben van Bommel from AZ. Mark van Bommel’s son is now nearing full fitness and will rejoin for the first training session at the end of June.
Transfer journalist Mounir Boualin praises FC Twente in any case for bringing in Sondre Ørjasæter. The Tukkers decided to go for it last season and shelled out millions for the forward. In the Soccernews podcast Transfermind, the journalist says that this was a good choice.
"Do you know who I think is a really good find at FC Twente? Ørjasæter. Left wing, that’s something FC Twente really did well. They creatively picked him up last summer. Then I think: where is, for example, Feyenoord in this story? Because Feyenoord brings in Borges for eleven million. I read that there were no fewer than seventeen positive reports about that kid. From whom, I wonder. You pay eleven million for that."

The transfer journalist continues: "And Ørjasæter, you could, in my view, have gotten for six million. PSV also spoke with him last summer. They found him very interesting as well. In the end, though, PSV chose Ruben van Bommel. He was actually the option behind that."
He would love to see Ørjasæter at Feyenoord. "I think this is a player... He’ll probably cost a few million more now, but I think he’s a great player to see at Feyenoord on the left side. A nice player. He really grew in the season, good dribbling. They’ve done that well. Can he make a step this summer? Yes, certainly."

"PSV Inside" sounds nice, but im worried the final ball is still a bit too rushed. Saibari and Tillman need to be more patient between the lines. Otherwise teams just step out and kill the rhythm 😅
"We need more control in midfield" ok but who is holding the ball when the press comes? If Xavi Simons is not dropping into pockets, it turns into chaos. 🤡
That PSV inside approach only works if the fullbacks actually stay brave in the half-spaces. If they hesitate, it turns into mid-block passing practice. Lets go though, the movement was cooking 🔥⚽
"PSV Inside" gets it, but i want more direct runs in behind. Opbouw is nice, yet we need someone brave to take the first pass into the channel. ⚽️
tbh im not convinced about the midfield balance. If Sangare is supposed to control tempo, he needs more touches early, not late. otherwise it turns into chasing shadows, no cap. 🔥
Wietse, that pressing trigger you mentioned is exactly what we need, but only if the back line stays brave. Otherwise teams will play around it and our transitions look too slow. 👀
If PSV go with that high line again, i swear tonight is gonna be chaos. Gakpo has to start tracking back more, otherwise they will punish space behind him. 👀
If PSV really wants to play through the half-spaces, i just hope they stop getting pinned on the wings. Tbh i see Luuk de Jong drifting a bit too early sometimes, then midfield is empty and we pay for it. 🔥⚽
