Hugo Borst points to PSV player: “This was the best season he has played for PSV.”

This is what the journalist in NOS Langs de Lijn says. ''I could also have chosen Ismael Saibari, he of course also has great figures. But he was often launched by Veerman. This was the best season that he has played at PSV. This season he has simply exceeded himself,'' says Borst on the radio station.
Last week, the Spartan named it in his column for Algemeen Dagblad still in support of Veerman after the midfielder spoke in front of the camera for ESPN about national team coach Ronald Koeman. ''It's escalated. Ronald Koeman has been behaving disrespectfully toward Joey Veerman for two years. It's character assassination'', Borst wrote in particular.
The journalist once again makes it very clear that he believes Koeman makes a big mistake by not selecting Veerman for the World Cup. ''I think it is unwise not to take him along. There is currently a plague of injured midfielders. That means that players are likely to be taken along for whom Veerman certainly does not fall short,'' says the Spartaan firmly.
Borst is full of praise for Veerman's footballing qualities as well. "He can play football incredibly well. It's always great to watch. If there's someone who can slip someone away, then it's Veerman," the journalist concludes.

One thing though: Saibari has numbers, but Veerman was the engine behind it. If Koeman really ignored him for the World Cup, thats not just a mistake, thats disrespect. Smh.

Hugo Borst is right imo, Veerman was levels above himself. Borst also nails it about the Koeman selection, if he leaves Joey out with so many midfield injuries it feels like pure nonsense. 🤬
Ik vond Saibari ook geweldig, maar Borst zegt terecht dat Veerman hem vaak lanceert. Als je zo veel beslissende momenten maakt, dan is Speler van het Jaar logisch.
i mean ok Borst is hyped, maar Veerman is ook echt next-level dit seizoen. Saibari deed t goed hoor, maar als Veerman de bal draait dan valt alles op z'n plek.
Borst is echt overtuigd, maar ik snap hem wel. Veerman is dit seizoen zowat onze control tower op het middenveld, die versnellingen zijn gewoon top. 💯⚽

Veerman getting that kind of praise from Borst is what i wanted to hear. The way he dictates tempo and still contributes end product, that is exactly why he stands out this season. ⚽🔥
Tbh snap ik ook niet dat Koeman hem niet meeneemt. Als er zoveel geblesseerde middenvelders zijn, dan is Veerman juist zo'n type dat direct kwaliteit brengt, niet dat je het risico neemt. 🙄
Eindelijk iemand die durft te zeggen dat Veerman echt op niveau is dit seizoen. Borst heeft gewoon gelijk, dit was gewoon zijn beste periode bij PSV 🔥⚽
