Once again: confirmation—Napoli is targeting PSV specifically.

1 min read

Concrete interest from Napoli in goalkeeper Matej Kovar. How seriously should we take that interest? In Naples, people have always had confidence in players from PSV, and that is also logical to say.

Just check, PSV typically plays Champions League football and so the players developing under Peter Bosz gain a lot of experience at the very highest level. Last week it was already reported from Italy that there was interest in Kovar, but this week that news is being confirmed again. Napoli appears to be focusing on PSV and Kovar for real.

This week, transfer journalist Nicolò Schira reports once again that the interest can already be described as concrete, although no offer has yet been tabled from Italy for PSV and Kovar. The Czech goalkeeper is well regarded at the Italian top club. This has something to do with a possible outgoing transfer of Alex Meret or Vanja Milinković-Savić.

According to the fairly well-known transfer journalist Schira, Kovar can count on 'serious interest' from Napoli, but there has not yet been an offer made from Italy for the goalkeeper of PSV. Last season, PSV had Kovar on loan for part of the season from Bayer Leverkusen. An accounting setup at Bayer Leverkusen meant that the goalkeeper was only transferred to PSV in January, after the purchase option of five million euros was exercised.

It is still unclear whether PSV is open to a departure of Kovar. The Czech international still has a contract in Eindhoven until mid-2030. His transfer value is estimated at eight million euros, but Peter Bosz would like to start the new season with the international from the Czech Republic.

Ook goed dat they mention the winger cutting inside. Till they fix the timing of the late runs, it will still be too predictable. 🔥

If PSV really wants to run that press high, they better not leave the back line exposed like that. Saw the build-up shape in the article, and it screams transition risk.

ngl im more worried about the midfield balance than the goals. When they get too stretched, opponents can turn defence into chances in like 2 passes. Need a calmer 6 next game 👀

If PSV actually played with that intensity up front, then Bakayoko is gonna be the difference. I just hope they dont overcommit and leave the fullbacks exposed again.
