Notable statement by Ivan Perišić about his contract at PSV: “Returning?”
1 min readAfter the international match Croatia - Ghana, which was won by the country of PSV player Ivan Perišić, the international was asked a question about his future. His future at PSV, of course.
It turns out that Ivan Perišić is still open to a return to Internazionale. The Croat was already open last winter to a transfer to the Italian champions, but PSV was not willing during the winter break to cooperate with a departure of the Croat to the Italian champions.
Italian media joined in the story and the wish of Internazionale, to publish daily news for about 10 days back then about the transfer that was nevertheless still expected to happen. PSV, however, did not go along with it, which meant Perišić had no choice but to stay at PSV.
"I was almost going to go to Inter in January, but PSV wouldn't let me go", Perisic says after the World Cup match with Ghana. The Croat keeps the door open for a return. "To return? That depends on the chairman and the director. They know where I am. They have to manage to find me", Perišić speaks very clearly about a possible return to Inter next season.

Perišić placed Saturday night as number two in the group for the knockout phase and for now at least will not be returning to De Herdgang yet because if Croatia are eliminated, Perišić will be obliged to take three weeks of vacation.
The experienced Croat played all group matches for ninety minutes and was still important against England, providing an assist.
The 37-year-old all-rounder is still under contract until mid-2027. For Internazionale, he previously already played more than 250 matches, in which he scored 55 times and provided fifty assists.

Give me that front three work rate, and i think we steamroll them. 🔥 If the article is right about the rotation, dont overcook it though, lets not go full roulette early.
"PSV Inside" should highlight that the key is how quickly we reach the second ball. When we win it, our chance creation looks goated, but when we dont its mid at best. 🤬
Tbh i like the idea of pressing higher, but only if the winger does the first job defensively. Otherwise we leave Sangare-type cover stranded and the transition risk is huge. ⚽
"PSV Inside" is finally talking about the real issue: end product. 🤬 If the wingers dont create clear cut chances, those tiki-taka sequences wont matter. Put some real fire into the box, then we win games, simple as that. 🔥
I think the article is right about the midfield balance, but im not convinced by the setup. When Sangare drops too deep, our chances come from scraps instead of build-up, and then it becomes boring pressure. We need more runs in behind, not just more passing around.
If PSV really go with that double pivot again, i just know itll get crowded in front of our back line. 👀 Still, when the fullbacks push like in the clip, it can turn into a nightmare for the other team.
If PSV really want to press higher next match, they cant just leave the back four exposed like last time. 👀 De Jong looked calmer on the ball, but the transitions were still too easy for them to punish.
