Ajax can keep top talent away from PSV

Ajax has reopened and extended Nafairon Landvreugd’s contract. The talented forward has tied his future to the Amsterdam club by signing a new agreement that runs until the summer of 2029. This way, Ajax can just about keep hold of the talent from the seriously interested PSV.

Still, a success for Ajax on the way to PSV. The youth international has long been regarded as one of the biggest talents from Ajax’s academy and has been able to count on interest from other top clubs. PSV has been monitoring his development for quite some time, while his mother previously revealed that Feyenoord also got in touch in the past, when Landvreugd was still playing for Zeeburgia.

Despite that interest, the attacker chooses to continue his development in Amsterdam. Next season, he will be part of Ajax Under 19’s squad, where he must further prepare for the step into professional football.

Technical manager Marijn Beuker is very enthusiastic about the qualities of the young attacker. "Nafairon is the type of player for whom you go to the stadium", he says on the club website.

"A quick attacker with a lot of creativity and flair in his play. He is able to outplay an opponent and produce goals or assists. We hope he can continue his good development towards professional football. We have, in any case, confidence in a bright future for Nafairon in the Ajax shirt", concluded Beuker, who is leaving Ajax, after it was announced on Saturday afternoon by the struggling Amsterdam club.
