“No transfer of PSV striker to Fortuna Sittard”

In recent weeks, PSV striker Jesper Uneken has frequently been linked with a move to Fortuna Sittard, as the Limburg club needs to sign two new strikers due to the departures of Paul Gladon and Kaj Sierhuis. As a result, Uneken was reportedly a serious option for the Fortunezen because the striker may leave PSV.

Now reporter Thomas Dal from the newspaper De Limburger brings the news that the transfer of Uneken to Limburg will no longer go through. Why the transfer of Uneken to Fortuna Sittard is off the table is unclear.

This is not the first transfer of a PSV striker that does not go through. Earlier this week, it was also reported that PSV is not cooperating with a transfer of Sami Bouhoudane to newly promoted side SC Cambuur.

Ik voel die frustratie wel, want Fortuna heeft echt twee spitsen nodig. Maar als het alsnog onduidelijk is waarom het stukloopt, dan was het waarschijnlijk meer papierwerk dan plan. 🔥

Geen transfer... again. We saw the same with Bouhoudane to Cambuur, and it feels like PSV is blocking loans too often when clubs actually need a striker.

"de transfer ... niet meer doorgaat" en niemand die het kan uitleggen, typisch. Ik snap dat PSV spelers wil behouden, maar dan moet je ook duidelijk zijn over wat Uneken gaat krijgen.

Lol of het nou Gladon en Sierhuis zijn, Fortuna kan natuurlijk wel blijven vissen maar PSV is niet van plan zomaar mee te werken. Tbh Jammer voor Uneken als hij minuten wil pakken, maar dit ruikt ook gewoon naar onduidelijkheid bij beide clubs.

tbh i had kinda hoped for Uneken to get starting minutes at Fortuna. If they now say no transfer, what's the plan, bench him and hope? 👀

Good call if they keep Uneken. If Fortuna wanted him as a quick fix, PSV can still develop him properly without giving away minutes too early. Also weird that the reason is unclear.
