FC Bayern sees in Ajax’ player an alternative to Saibari
1 min readEarlier this week, news came out that Ismael Saibari is very likely to leave PSV for FC Bayern Munich. Saibari would meanwhile have reached an oral agreement with Der Rekordmeister, meaning only both clubs still need to come to an agreement.
Only the price for the Moroccan midfielder is a bit of an issue. PSV, according to Eindhovens Dagblad, is demanding at least €50 to €60 million, while the German champions have tabled an offer of €47 million.
For PSV, that amount is too low and also Christian Falk, an FC Bayern watcher for the German newspaper BILD, sees that the negotiations between the two clubs about the price are still not running entirely smoothly. ''Bayern wanted to go for Anthony Gordon first and had €60 million for that. I now hear reports that PSV thinks: 'then give us 60 million for Saibari as well''', says Falk on his YouTube channel.
If the transfer of Saibari in some way still doesn’t go through, then FC Bayern would also consider contracting Ajax player Mika Godts, believes Falk. ''Mika Godts is also on the list. He is ranked lower than Saibari, and I don’t know exactly why, because he also had an enormous good season. He is also a lot cheaper: the asking price is 35 million euros. If Saibari doesn’t work out, then Godts is the next candidate'', according to the FC Bayern watcher.

Despite this, Saibari remains, at the moment, still FC Bayern’s number one priority. Vincent Kompany has reportedly already spoken earlier this week with the Moroccan midfielder, and the coach is also said to have given his approval for Saibari’s move to southern Germany.
Currently, the midfielder is preparing with Morocco for the upcoming World Cup in North America. Saibari and Anass Salah-Eddine will face Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland with Morocco in Group C.

i know we are rivals, but PSV's wing play in the article sounds like a blueprint for pain. If they hit those early diagonals, even we will struggle to defend it 💀
I think the quote about "youth bringing energy" is fair, but PSV still need decision making in the final third. Its not just speed, its the right pass at the right moment. 🚀
That midfield balance looked shaky to me. When the double pivot sits too deep, opponents just walk through the first line and we end up chasing.
"We need more intensity" is fair, but intensity without structure turns into chaos. For me, the key is tighter distances between the full-back and the winger so the 2nd ball gets won more often.
Idk if i buy the confidence, the buildup looked shaky in the last run of games. If the article is right about the new shape, then Sangare and the fullback need to coordinate better in the first 10 minutes. 💯
Goal contributions are cool but im worried about our right side when the winger drifts inside. If that article is hinting we will rely on one press trap, that feels mid... still, wingers have to do more defensively. 😅
Bro if they keep playing the wide channels without support, the fullbacks are gonna get exposed. Need one midfielder to cover, otherwise its open season for counters 💀
"Inside PSV" talking points were spot on about the build-up, but i still think we go too safe in the half-spaces. Get the ball to the fullback earlier and it becomes way more dangerous 🔥⚽
Bro the pressing timing has to be smarter. When they jump too early, you can see opponents get that free turn and then its basically danger on repeat 🔥
Pelerman was already making smart runs, but the finishing is what kills it. Waste 2 big chances and suddenly its 1-1 and everyone starts blaming the system, not the shots.
"PSV are ready to press high" is nice, but if the timing is off we will get punished immediately. tbh i think the midfield cover has to be better before we go full aggression. 🔥
If PSV are serious about pressing, then Zahavi needs to be used smarter off the ball. Right now we win the ball sometimes but lose momentum immediately.
"more intensity on the press" is exactly what i want to see, but can they sustain it for 90? If they go full chaos again in the 2nd half im gonna be stressed 😂
If the article is right about PSV wanting more control in midfield, i swear that starts with Sangare being braver on the ball. With Zahavi up top you need the tempo to match, otherwise it turns into long balls and vibes only.
If we are going with this 4-3-3 again, i need Veerman to be braver on the ball, dont hide behind the pivot. Also Bakayoko has to track his man earlier, otherwise it becomes a transition festival. 👀
If PSV go with that midfield shape again, i hope it doesnt leave Sangare isolated. Those build-ups looked nice but the second phase needs more control, not just pace.
