Joey Veerman: “In previous seasons, I’ve spoken to him on the pitch sometimes.”
1 min readPSV presented Sven Mijnans earlier this month as their new summer signing and to date, Mijnans is also the only signing made by PSV. The midfielder is expected to make people forget Ismael Saibari, who left for FC Bayern Munich during this transfer period.
In conversation with the Eindhovens Dagblad, Joey Veerman talks about the arrival of Mijnans. Veerman does not rule out that PSV will use the same style of play as last season, when Guus Til and Ismael Saibari formed a golden duo up front
''Maybe we’ll play differently because of that, with two tens up front. Something that also went well last season'', Veerman is candid with the ED.
After that, the midfielder gets on to the new recruit Mijnans. "It would be great if there were still good replacements to come, and I'm very curious to see how Sven Mijnans will do with us," says the PSV player.

In terms of technical qualities, Mijnans is in good shape, according to Veerman. ''Technically, he’s a good player and he runs a lot into the space behind the defence. I spoke to him on the pitch during the previous seasons sometimes, but then we had already twice been 0-3 up after twenty minutes'', said the club’s third captain in the season 2026/2027.
