Elfrink expects an exit at PSV: “Now he can make a different choice if he wants to.”
1 min readThanks in part to the injury to Allassane Pléa at the start of the season, PSV decided to loan striker Myron Boadu from AS Monaco. Boadu also suffered a lot of injuries, which means his time at PSV can hardly be called a success.
The striker has a contract that is running down and in recent months PSV has made it clear several times that they would like to continue with the forward. Boadu said after the Ajax - PSV match (2-2) during the press conference that he would like to stay longer.
Despite that, PSV watcher Rik Elfrink from Eindhovens Dagblad believes that Boadu will no longer wear the PSV shirt next season. The journalist tells this in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang of the ED.
''That option isn't quite sitting in the fireplace yet, but I think it will be difficult,'' says Elfrink in the podcast about the situation with Boadu.
It is still a question whether Ricardo Pepi will be seen in the PSV kit next season or whether the American striker will make a transfer after the World Cup. Pléa, at any rate, is fully focused on the upcoming season.
The French striker was seriously injured in the away match against FC Twente (0-2) on 17 August 2025 and was therefore sidelined for the entire season. ''If PSV has the confidence that Pléa can train well every day and play multiple matches in a week again, then it will be difficult for Boadu. He can now make a different choice if he would like. Then you have Pepi and Pléa. And if that starts to move, PSV will bring in another striker again. Not at the moment,'' said Elfrink.

"Die optie ligt nog niet helemaal in het haardvuur" en dat zegt genoeg. als PSV echt pepi + pléa topfit heeft, dan is boadu waarschijnlijk alleen nog rotatie, en daar wordt je contractlogisch voor beëindigd.
Ik vind het vooral raar dat ze steeds herhalen hoe graag ze willen doorpakken met Boadu, terwijl hij nu juist op een aflopend contract zit en nooit echt fit bleef. Als Pléa pas net terug is en dagelijks kan trainen, oké, maar PSV heeft al te lang gewacht op aanvallers die niet structureel heel blijven. Dan moet je eerlijk zijn en gewoon een plan B klaar hebben.

Elfrink zegt eigenlijk gewoon dat PSV al vooruit kijkt: "Pepi en Pléa" en klaar. Met Pléa volledig in beeld na die zware blessure bij Twente, wordt Boadu een bijrol. Persconferentie bij Ajax-PSV met dat "langer blijven" klinkt mooi, maar ik geloof er minder in.
Tbh Boadu had echt kansen, maar blessureleed verpest het ritme. Als Pepi en Pléa straks weer fit zijn, is dit contract ook gewoon moeilijk te verdedigen. Toch jammer hoor, maar dit ruikt naar een exit.
Boadu zei na Ajax-PSV (2-2) dat hij langer wil blijven, maar ja... blessures maken het vaak onhaalbaar. Met Pléa fit plus Pepi is het dan ook logisch dat PSV moeilijk doet.
Idk, ik snap de logica wel. Als je straks met Pepi en Pléa kunt spelen, dan is Boadu logisch gezien surplus, zeker na al die blessureleed.
i snap wel waarom ze Boadu niet helemaal laten hangen bij die blessure-cijfers, maar tbh, na 2-2 tegen ajax wilde hij juist door. Als elfrink zegt "die optie ligt nog niet helemaal in het haardvuur", dan voelt het alsof de deal al bijna dood is 💀
tbh als pleà straks weer fit is, dan snap ik echt wel dat boadu moeilijk gaat spelen voor z'n plek. mijn gevoel: edd verwacht exit maar kan nog net aanhaken als boadu het rendement blijft maken. 🔥
Boadu zegt dat hij langer wil blijven na Ajax - PSV, maar ED-watcher Rik Elfrink voelt al dat het moeilijk wordt. Als Pepi en Pléa allebei fit blijven, dan is zijn rol gewoon te klein. Denk dat PSV dan toch doorpakt in de transfermarkt.
