Search for a new assistant coach: “Maybe that would be better for both parties.”
1 min readFor the 2026/2027 season, PSV needs to find a new assistant coach to work with Peter Bosz. At the start of the season, former PSV defender André Ooijer took over from Stijn Schaars.
After the final match before the winter break, an away game at FC Utrecht (1-2), Ooijer nonetheless announced that he was stepping down as assistant coach, and former team-mate Ibrahim Afellay was then pushed forward as Bosz’s second violin. Shortly before the last league match at home against FC Twente (5-1), Afellay also announced that he would step down again after just half a season.
On the social media platform X, a PSV supporter advised bringing Luuk de Jong back to PSV as a new assistant coach. Last week, it became clear that De Jong will be leaving PSV again after a season, and it is still unclear where the future of the 35-year-old striker lies.
Another name that was frequently mentioned X was that of Hendrie Krüzen, also a brewer friend of Peter Bosz. The name of Krüzen is also brought up on the television program De Oosttribune of RTV Oost.
Among other things, journalist Tijmen van Wissing is in favor. ''I was thinking: that Afellay is now gone from PSV again. Should Peter Bosz not just phone Hendrie Krüzen and say: 'Come and sit next to me again'. Wouldn't that be the solution? Maybe that would be better for both parties,'' said the journalist in De Oosttribune.
Then Van Wissing goes into the friendship that Bosz and Krüzen have with each other. ''I think that Peter and Hendrie have contact every week anyway. I think they even go on holiday together. I just still get the impression that Hendrie is still enjoying himself, given the circumstances at Heracles. And that he is enjoying his freedom, because he is back in Almelo,'' concludes the reporter.

Luuk de Jong as assistant sounds fun, but i want more coaching structure, not just a familiar face. Krüzen at least has the Bosz vibe already, so i think that would fit better for tactics.
Die Winterstop-uitschakeling door Ooijer en daarna Afellay die ook stopt na een half seizoen... dat is rommelig. Ik zou het eerlijk gezegd liever hebben dat PSV één duidelijke kandidaat pakt en die gewoon laat landen. 🙄
🔥 Krüzen roepen is een banger als je het ziet als verlengstuk van Bosz. Maar als we opnieuw een 'vriendendienst' doen, riskeren we dat het team weer dezelfde winter al half op zijn kop staat.
Ik snap wel dat PSV iets nieuws wil, maar met al die wissels (Ooijer weg, Afellay weg) voelt het alsof de staf niet snel genoeg landt. Wel logisch dat ze Krüzen opnieuw overwegen als Bosz en hij echt zo goed schakelen.

i snap de pijn na Ooijer en Afellay, tbh is het gewoon te veel gedoe voor een staf. Krüzen naast Bosz klinkt wel logisch, zeker als ze echt al zo'n band hebben.
"Kom weer lekker naast me zitten" is echt zo'n Bosz-vibe 😂 maar snap die journalist wel. Of Krüzen inhoudelijk ook de juiste tactische knop kan vertalen naar de training, moeten we dan nog zien.
Op X roepen ze altijd Luuk terug, maar als het echt om een assistent-coach gaat dan liever iemand die Bosz echt kent. Krüzen met die Bosz-contacten voelt wel "peak" voor de staf. 👀
In the end we keep rotating assistants like its transfer window drama. Afellay half-season and now again... tbh Bosz needs stability, not another revolving door. Krüzen being in their circle makes more sense 👀
Tbh klinkt Krüzen als een logische move, vooral als Bosz en hem al zo close zijn. Als je dan die half-season circus (Ooijer, Afellay) achter je wilt laten, dan is stabiliteit belangrijk. ❤️
