ESPN analyst fears possible PSV departure: “I’ve really enjoyed him over the past few years”
1 min readIt remains to be seen whether Ismael Saibari can take part on Sunday on behalf of PSV when the Peter Bosz’s side plays the final competitive match of the 2025/2026 season at home against FC Twente. The midfielder has been dealing with a muscle injury since the match away to Sparta Rotterdam (0-2), which has kept him sidelined ever since.
If former PSV striker Danny Koevermans has his way, PSV should not take any chances with the midfielder in the run-up to the World Cup. After all, Bosz’s side has already been champions for a long time and, moreover, has nothing left to play for.
Even so, PSV can still play a crucial role in the fight for third place, since Bosz's men, with a win over FC Twente, could lend a helping hand to NEC or Ajax. ''I wouldn't take that risk with him on Sunday. It could be his last match for PSV, only I don't know how fit he is.'', says Koevermans in the program Voetbalpraat on ESPN.
Karim El Ahmadi, on the other hand, is hoping for a longer stay for Saibari at PSV, but the chance still seems very real that the midfielder will make a transfer this coming summer. ''I’ve really enjoyed him over the last few years. In the past seasons, there have been few players like him'', El Ahmadi praises.

The Moroccan analyst also speaks about an injury as Saibari leaves PSV. ''Therefore it really is a loss that he is likely going to leave the Netherlands. I would have liked to see him play here for years,'' said the former Feyenoord player.

Third spot or not, PSV bossz wont want excuses. If Saibari cant go, they better not rely on some half-fit minutes... hope he plays anyway so Twente can suffer 🤡
ngl losing Saibari would hurt. The way he carries the ball and turns in tight spaces is just rare, El Ahmadi aint even exaggerating 😍
El Ahmadi is hyping Saibari like hes one of a kind, and ngl i get it. But if PSV still can get 3rd by beating Twente, rotation matters, and Saibari is exactly the type that changes tempo. 👀
Koevermans saying
Koevermans saying it could be his last match for PSV makes it feel weird already... But if he is not 100% then just dont force it. 🔥
Danny Koevermans is tbh right. If Saibari is coming back from that muscle injury, why risk it against Twente when PSV has already clinched everything?
If Saibari is still injured, i get Koevermans about not risking him. Third place is nice, but dont gamble with a body for nothing.
