Today, Inside wants to name Peter Bosz as Ronald Koeman’s successor, but surprisingly not immediately.
1 min readThe succession of Ronald Koeman has become a topic of discussion and rightly so. The position of national team coach of the Netherlands national team is an important one within the KNVB and the Dutch football landscape to mention.
In Vandaag Inside, thinks they do know the solution. In particular, Johan Derksen comes up with a striking candidate for the Netherlands national team: 'Put him down for two years', Derksen begins his account about Ron Jans. On Tuesday evening, the 63-year-old coach announced that he is leaving the Netherlands national team with immediate effect. In Vandaag Inside, Derksen mentions Ron Jans as a possible successor to Koeman.
"Great", Gijp replies when asked how Ronald Koeman should look back on his career at the top of European football. "He has had a great career as a player and manager. He has had great clubs." Derksen is also impressed. "You can clasp your hands with a career like that."
"I'm already holding my heart in my hands," Derksen continues as the possible successors are discussed. "Because I have absolutely no confidence in that technical director Nigel de Jong. He will call Slot, but he will probably say that he can earn millions at European clubs. The KNVB can't compete with that. I still think Peter Bosz is, after Slot, the ideal candidate. Only he has signed with PSV", Derksen judges, who immediately comes up with a solution.

Put Ron Jans in place for two years and then make Bosz the national team coach for the next five years. We have to make sure we don’t put the wrong person there. Jans is the only one in the Netherlands with the general development and experience to still be able to work there for another two years. I think he’d be interested in it."
The name of Reiziger also sounds out many times. Derksen is clearly about Reiziger and says he has no confidence in the coach of Jong Oranje. “I would find that ridiculous, because Reiziger thinks he is a very big coach, but he has never shown anything on his own as a coach. You need a wealth of experience when you join a national team.” Derksen is also firm about Sarina Wiegman. “If you look at how women play football, then you can never coach a men’s team,” said Derksen again.
