Ismael Saibari at FC Bayern, the first footage
1 min readThe transfer of Ismael Saibari from PSV to FC Bayern München has been officially confirmed by both parties on Wednesday. Saibari, who is currently still active with Morocco at the World Cup in North America, is leaving for a record fee to southern Germany after the midfielder enjoyed an excellent season at PSV.
The Moroccan international has played for PSV since the 2023/2024 season with shirt number 34. Saibari did this to honor Ajax fan and his friend Abdelhak Nouri. In the meantime, the first images have surfaced of the Moroccan midfielder in an FC Bayern kit. Saibari also answers questions from FC Bayern TV.
This tells the newly signed acquisition of Der Rekordmeister to the club channel of FC Bayern. ''He has survived, but since then he can no longer move on his own. I support him by wearing number 34; that was his last shirt number,'' Saibari tells openly about his friend Nouri.
Nouri collapsed in July 2017 during a friendly match between Ajax and SV Werder Bremen and has since suffered lasting brain damage. At the time, the talented midfielder wore the number 34 jersey.
In November, the midfielder already told ESPN that he has a good relationship with Nouri's family. ''That's nice, of course. I, of course, wear number 34 for that guy. What happened to him is terrible. But I also do it for the family. They are holding up well, and faith helps with that too. When I'm with him, I try to make jokes with him and he can laugh about that, so that's nice. When he hears my name, he starts laughing right away. I like that. I hope he will start getting better with that positive energy'', Saibari said at the time.

Number 34 at Bayern... that is peak emotional transfer. Maar sportief gezien, gaat hij daar meteen ballen opruimen of moeten ze hem laten groeien? Want PSV-Saibari was wel echt motor.
"Hij heeft het overleefd, maar kan zich sindsdien niet meer zelfstandig bewegen." Pff dat blijft heftig. Wel knap hoe Saibari het geloof en die grapjes inzet, hoop dat Bayern hem ook ruimte geeft voor zingeving en voetbal tegelijk.
tbh die Bayern-tricot beelden zijn wel echt vreemd als je gewend bent aan PSV. maar als je de context ziet met nummer 34, snap ik het 100%... goed dat hij Nouri en de familie steunt ❤️
De quote over Nouri is echt hartverwarmend, maar tbh ik ben benieuwd hoe Bayern hem gaat gebruiken. Bij PSV was zijn waarde de prikactie tussen de linies, daar ga je niet ineens vanzelf hetzelfde doen in een andere speelstijl. Rockets of not, dit is grote stap.
Recordbedrag en dan meteen die 34... respect voor Saibari, maar wel pijn in de ziel. Ik snap Bayern, maar PSV had hem nog echt nodig op tempo in de opbouw. 👀
Recordbedrag en dan ook nog met rugnummer 34, dat is echt netjes van Saibari. Bij Bayern gaan ze dit waarschijnlijk voelen als meer dan een gimmick. Respect voor die tribute aan Nouri.
