PSV made a concrete offer in the winter break, saying: “He represents a considerable transfer value.”

1 min read

Not every PSV fan is entirely convinced of his qualities yet, but even so the French youth international Kiliann Sildillia may already cautiously be counted among the core starting lineup. The Frenchman simply has the necessary potential and will, as a rule, be considered for a starting spot next season.

Against FC Twente, Dest will normally play what will be his last match for PSV, which will see Sildillia move up a spot in the pecking order. Stewart brought Kiliann Sildillia in last summer as one of many reinforcements. The 23-year-old French defender arrived for a fee of €5.8 million from German club SC Freiburg.

His transfer seems to have been a good decision by Stewart. The transfer value of the Frenchman has risen enormously in no time, meaning PSV already has its sights on a million-euro profit should they pull him in this summer.

The French winger defender signed in Eindhoven a contract until mid-2030 but will normally not see that period through. As it now turns out, the Frenchman could already have left last winter, but PSV prevented it. The Eindhoven Daily reports that. 'He represents a considerable transfer value and will only be allowed to leave after a year if a very substantial offer is made,' it says.

I get the intent, but PSV sometimes look a bit slow recycling the ball after winning it high. If the article is right about taking fewer risks, then we need better ball-receivers, because otherwise it turns into endless passing with no killer pass 👀.

Quote says the gameplan is "press in waves" and honestly i like it, but only if the first trigger is disciplined. Otherwise you end up chasing shadows, and then it gets ugly fast 💀.

❤️ That attacking rhythm is proper fire. But if they want to win the big games, they must fix the set piece defending... every time we concede a silly header i age 10 years 💀

"Just keep it on the ground" is the vibe... but sometimes we need more chaos in the final third 😂. Feels like if the press triggers once, we can cook, but if we fail that first pass, it turns into a long walk.

Wijnaldum was the key point for me. When he drops between the lines, PSV look like they can control the tempo instead of just surviving. But i still want more direct runs from the wingers, they sometimes hesitate.

First thing i thought: do they actually back the winger with overlapping runs like suggested? If not, Sangare and Veerman will be covering too much and then the legs go late in games. Love the idea though, feels like a step forward 🚀

Zirkzee/Vertessen vibes incoming? lol i just want more direct runs in behind, not more sideways touches 😅. Also, please let the fullback overlap more, that zone is begging to be attacked 🔥.

Not trying to be rude, but the article glosses over the defensive set-up. If the midfield doesnt screen properly, attackers will just run at the space in front of the box 😅

"We need balance in the press" ... i agree, but PSV have to control the first pass or it turns into chaos. Watched teams punish our recoveries in transition way too often 💀

tbh if the plan is to play more through the middle, we need better tempo from Veerman. Otherwise it turns into sideways passes and then its panic-ball.

"PSV Inside" feels spot on this time: the build-up through the half-spaces is where the danger is. Romero looks more confident when he can play with one-touch support, otherwise he gets stuck carrying the ball alone. Still, idk if this midfield balance holds against teams with direct wingers.

If PSV keep pressing like that i honestly love it. But defensively, that first transition looked shaky, especially when the fullback gets pulled inside. Need Guardado or Tillman to do more clean-up work in those moments tbh.

That comment about Xavi Simons being the key link is spot on imo. When he drops between the lines, the whole build-up changes, and opponents cant sit deep anymore 🔥⚽

If PSV press like the article says, we should see more turnovers in their half. Still, i worry it leaves space behind the fullbacks when they get dragged wide.

If PSV are really sticking with that tighter midfield shape, then it explains the control in transitions. But Guarding the half-spaces has to be perfect, otherwise Ajax-style counters will punish it fast.

If PSV really wants to play like this, the midfield has to be calmer. Sangare on the ball is good, but if he gets pulled out, the gaps behind him get punished fast. Need better defensive cover on the counter, otherwise its gonna feel shaky.
