PSV is targeting Anderlecht and seems to have millions available for a “top transfer”

PSV would have pointed its arrows at Brussels regarding summer reinforcements. While many a PSV fan seems to be concerned about the lack of signings for the new season, there is naturally plenty of work going on behind the scenes on a wide range of options. 

One option appears to be a seventeen-year-old midfielder from Anderlecht. The talented midfielder is seen as Belgium’s biggest talent, which means we can speak of a so-called top transfer. It concerns the Belgian Nathan De Cat, reports transfer journalist Mounir Boualin.

How does the journalist obtain this information? From Belgium, sources confirm to Boualin that PSV is hoping to sign De Cat this summer from Anderlecht. The Belgian top talent is seen by Earnie Stewart and his scouting team as “a real reinforcement” for the midfield. A big future would await De Cat, it sounds from Belgium.

However, the question is whether a possible top transfer from De Cat to PSV is feasible. The value of De Cat is, according to the German outlet Transfermarkt, estimated at €27 million. The window for a top transfer could be the short-term to mid-2027 contract with Anderlecht.

Anderlecht would be willing this summer to sell De Cat to another club. For years in a row, there has been no question of actually developing players at Anderlecht due to the level of the club that has fallen. PSV would be intending to make 'a serious attempt' nonetheless for the arrival of the young Belgian. So far, De Cat has played 53 official matches for Anderlecht’s first team, in which he was responsible for four goals and five assists. More later.
