No future anymore at PSV: “It is expected that he will make a transfer”
1 min readBy contracting Matej Kovar and Nick Olij last summer, PSV decided to loan goalkeeper Joël Drommel to Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam. At the team from Spangen, Drommel, after a shaky start, ultimately put in a strong season, and the chance is therefore also quite high that the goalkeeper will make a transfer.
With this news, the Eindhovens Dagblad is bringing it to light. Still, Drommel is training with the A-team despite the fact that PSV is looking to see whether there is a possibility of selling the goalkeeper.
''PSV is also still looking whether Joël Drommel can take a step outside in the coming weeks. Right now, he is training along with the first team and is very welcome. Drommel has had a great season behind him at Sparta and it is expected that he will make a transfer'', as writes the Eindhovens Dagblad.
In the summer of 2021, Drommel joined PSV via FC Twente, but he was never an undisputed goalkeeper. Under coach Roger Schmidt, near the end of the 2021/2022 season the goalie also ended up on the bench in favor of Yvon Mvogo.

Even under Ruud van Nistelrooy and Peter Bosz, Drommel could not reclaim his place under the bar since PSV had signed Walter Benítez. However, the goalkeeper was allowed to keep in the matches in the KNVB Cup, and in the 2022/2023 season Drommel played a major role in the final against Ajax.
With the score at 2-2, the Mexican Edson Alvarez took the kick and Alvarez fired the ball straight at the PSV goalkeeper, who decided to stay in the middle. After that, it was up to Fabio Silva to fire PSV to victory in the cup, and as a result PSV won for the second time in a row the fight for Ajax’s pine-cone.

The tactical talk is fine, but i want to see the defensive line stay connected. If they push up without cover, the counter will punish us every time, especially against teams with pace on the break. 💯
"More width, more directness" yeahhh but we still have to hit the second ball. otherwise it becomes just crosses with no end product. 🔥
tbh the best thing about PSV lately has been the pressing triggers, but sometimes it feels like we jump a step too early. If the article is right about the build-up change, then im curious how Benitez handles the press. 👀
That midfield setup better be doing the dirty work, because if they let the opponents play through the half-space like in the last match, we are cooked. Noni really needs to be more disciplined with his tracking.
