PSV is competing with Ajax for former German talent
1 min readIt has now become clear that Ismael Saibari from PSV is going to leave for FC Bayern Munich. Saibari, who on Tuesday night was still knocking balls for the Netherlands at the World Cup on behalf of Morocco, made an excellent impression last season and as a result has put himself on the radar of Europe’s elite.
For this reason, PSV will need to look for a replacement and, according to the Eindhoven Dagblad, the club could come out with Julian Brandt, who left Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. Despite this, nothing concrete is yet happening between PSV and the former German international, the ED knows.
Earlier, Brandt, who still played half a season under Peter Bosz at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, was already linked to a possible transfer to Ajax. The Amsterdam club reportedly, however, did inquire about the earnings of the German midfielder.
Still, the Eindhoven Daily knows that the midfielder is also on PSV's radar. ''Concretely, according to official sources, there is absolutely nothing right now, but insiders are whispering that PSV may still be able to get in touch with the German,'' the paper writes about it.

In addition, the ED reports that a possible move of Brandt to PSV will be seen as a particularly complicated matter, given his salary and the fact that the German is also attracting interest from England. ''In recent years, Brandt earned a fortune by PSV standards in Dortmund. In addition, there are dozens of clubs that are inquiring about him'', the local newspaper said.
Last month, a PSV fan on the social media platform X also brought up the name of Julian Brandt when it became known that Saibari was of interest to FC Bayern Munich. In the past, PSV had already pulled off a surprise by signing Mario Götze on a free transfer in October 2020 and Ivan Perisic in September 2024.

"We have to stay compact" yeah ok, but compactness alone wont win games. We need 1-2 early chances, otherwise teams park the bus and smother us. 🤬
That quote about controlling games sounds nice, but Ajax fans will wait for one mistake and punish it. Tbh i just want better pressing triggers, not more slogans 👀💀
Luke de Jong being mentioned as the target man makes sense, but PSV must overload the sides when he drops in. Otherwise it turns into long balls and nothing happens after the second header. 👀
The quote about being "braver" in possession sounds nice, but bravery without control is how you get transitions against you. I want to see more tempo changes from the first phase, not just more risk. 💀
"PSV Inside" saying the build-up is improving... okay, but i still see too many blind passes into pressure. Get the tempo right and the chances will come, otherwise its gonna feel like the same story again 🤡
Ngl, im still not convinced about the midfield balance. They said X can play higher, but then who covers the half-spaces when we lose it? 🤔
If the article is right about PSV going with that more direct build-up, thats exactly what we need. Got to get the ball into the box quicker or we'll be stuck watching teams defend all game. 🔥⚽
If PSV really starts playing this high with these full-backs, i wanna see the midfield cover first. Bergwijn on the wing is fine but without help he gets dragged into transitions, no excuses 🔥⚽
