Fans point to Joey Veerman after Ronald Koeman’s dismissal: ‘Welcome back’
1 min readRonald Koeman announced Tuesday evening that he would step down as head coach of the Netherlands national team after Oranje lost to Morocco under Koeman in the round of 16 of the World Cup in North America. The coach shared this on social media.
With Koeman’s departure, under a new national team coach there could be a new opportunity for Joey Veerman in the Netherlands national team. Despite an excellent season at PSV, Veerman was completely ignored by PSV’s former coach, after which the midfielder openly said that Koeman no longer needed to call him after he once again started talking about the character of the program.

tbh Koeman paste Veerman gewoon niet in zn plan. Maar als Koeman vertrekt, moet je die deur openzetten. Veerman is de type die rust brengt als het even rommelig is, dat Oranje nu vaak mist.
Welkom terug voor Veerman, i love that. Koeman zong ineens over "karakter", maar hij negeerde gewoon een speler die bij PSV every week scoort en tempo geeft. Als er nu een nieuwe bondscoach komt, hoop ik dat ze hem eindelijk gebruiken.
