PSV defender may leave this summer

1 min read

Two years ago, the Burkinese defender Adamo Nagalo came to PSV from Nordsjælland for seven million euros. However, the central defender could not make an impact at Peter Bosz’s team and as a result, Nagalo managed only twelve official appearances for PSV’s first team.

Last winter, the club management at PSV decided to loan Nagalo out to the Turkish club Konyaspor. With that team, the PSV loanee reached the final of the Turkish Cup, in which they lost 2-1 to Trabzonspor.

Now the defender of PSV has been told that he may leave this coming summer. The Eindhoven Dagblad brings this news to light.

According to ED, PSV demands a sum of at least four million euros. ''After two years at PSV, he is presumably still worth more than four million euros on the financial books, and the club’s management of PSV does not want to record a heavy loss'', the newspaper writes.

Due to Nagalo's good performances at Konyaspor and the fact that the defender is an international from Burkina Faso, PSV does not want to let him go 'for peanuts', according to ED.

4m is not a banger but better than another useless bench season. He looked way better in Turkey, so maybe this is the right moment to let him go... 🔥💯

i mean 7m to PSV and only 12 official games is rough. If we can get 4m back, thats not a disaster and we can move on to a defender that fits our system quicker 🔥

"ruim vier miljoen euro op de financiële balans" ... that sounds like business first. If ED is right and he is still on the books for more than that, then letting him go is smart. Still, i wonder why Bosz didnt fit him better.

"geen zware verliespost inboeken" is the key line. ED says PSV doesnt want to write it off heavily, so they likely prefer a controlled sale. If we can get 4m, take it and move on, but only if recruitment closes the gap properly.

"mag deze zomer vertrekken" ... honestly i wouldnt hate it. If PSV can bring in a starting CB instead of a squad option, that defense gets better immediately. 4m might be the minimum but we shouldnt sell him for cheap just because he is a former signing.

i mean... i get it but i still think we shouldnt sell too cheap if Bosz still sees a future option. 4 million minimum feels ok, especially since he is an international, but its still risky if we then dont strengthen the CB depth.

so Nagalo leaving is basically inevitable, i guess. The Bosz era didnt fit him and now PSV wants 4m+ because they dont want a big loss on the books. Smart business but sad, i wanted more consistency from him.

Seems fair tbh. 12 official games in two years is not enough, and if Nagalo value is still around 4m+ then PSV should cash in. Konyaspor run to the cup final also helps his price, lets go.

Four million feels fair tbh. If he was only getting 12 games in Eindhoven, better to cash in while he has value from that Konyaspor run. Also the Burkina international status helps the price.

Konyaspor huurperiode in de bekerfinale, oké dat is iets. Maar i still think 4 miljoen klinkt als een "we hopen dat iemand bijspringt" bedrag. PSV should also be realistic, want time moves on.

Tbh 7 miljoen voor 12 duels was echt geen slimme deal. If he can net them at least 4 miljoen, dan is het geen horrorpost meer. Maar of hij PSV-niveau is blijft natuurlijk wel een vraag.

Honestly if Bosz couldnt use Nagalo, selling makes sense. 4 million minimum seems fair if he is still seen as a sellable asset. Also the Konyaspor run and his Burkina international status probably help his value.
