1 min readIn England, there’s a rumor going around that Liverpool would want to use Cody Gakpo as a makeweight to make a multimillion-pound transfer possible. So far, the rumor appears to be nothing more than a fabrication from the outlet TEAMtalk, but on social media too there’s been a steady stream of rumors about Cody Gakpo’s future at Liverpool.
It’s all about Liverpool replacing Mo Salah, who, as is well known, has left for the club of Gakpo. On fan and Facebook pages about the Egyptian superstar, there is talk of Gakpo leaving so that Liverpool can add RB Leipzig top talent Yan Diomande to the squad.
Liverpool, according to TEAMtalk, would consider involving Cody Gakpo in a mega deal for RB Leipzig top talent Yan Diomande. In that case, the Premier League club would offer a cash amount plus Gakpo’s transfer rights to release Diomande from Germany. The Red Bull Leipzig forward is expected to become Mohamed Salah’s successor at Anfield, but the transfer fee of more than 130 million euros is still a bit too much for Liverpool at the moment.
Gakpo himself has no desire to leave Liverpool, but the sacking of Arne Slot could very well start costing him his place in the starting lineup, TEAMtalk knows. A move by top player Yan Diomande would, moreover, clear the way for Johan Bakayoko to get more playing time at Red Bull Leipzig.
RB Leipzig has so far refused to cooperate with a departure and has decisively rejected a £ 86 million offer (approx. € 100 million) from Liverpool. Diomandé would have informed his management in the meantime that he is open to a move to Anfield. Because Leipzig is not yet giving its top talent free rein, Liverpool is also looking at other options in the transfer market, such as Bradley Barcola.
Aside from the rumors, Cody Gakpo would normally see no benefit in a transfer to Red Bull Leipzig, but football miracles are not yet out of the world. In the meantime, London club Tottenham Hotspur is being linked with a transfer for Gakpo, but to date Spurs has not yet followed through on a move for Gakpo and Liverpool.

Honestly, the tactics were fine, but the PSV biggest problem is consistency. One good phase then back to scrambling in our own box, smh. PSV have to turn these moments into control, not chaos.
The spacing in the article sounded good, but can they repeat it vs a team that presses high? If the pivots dont receive clean, the whole inside channel collapses. Defensively it looked risky.

Brilliant that we could build through the right side, you could see why Xavi Simons is so key to the rhythm. But fr, the final ball still needs one more level to make it a proper title statement. Largely positive though, i wont lie 🔥
The quote about 'winning second balls' is why i believe. PSV inside works when the midfield is first to the loose balls, otherwise it feels mid. 🤡
Watching the inside movements, its clear why they wanted the striker to drop. It forces the CDM to pick between tracking and helping the winger. That said, if the link player is lazy, it turns into a traffic jam. 😅
"PSV Inside" should show the whole midfield balance, because the double pivot looked shaky defensively. Defensively we need more screens in transition, otherwise teams will keep springing runners 💀

i like the idea, but tbh the pressing triggers looked a bit late at times. When we sat off, they found space between the lines and it got scary fast 😅
If PSV are going to keep playing like this, Luuk in that role has to be more ruthless. The movement was there but the end product was mid at best. We need goals, not just nice lay-offs.
