AS Roma seems to be ahead of PSV again
1 min readItalian media are reporting concrete interest from AS Roma in a player that PSV had already been chasing earlier this calendar year.
PSV has had serious interest in Zakaria El Ouahdi from the Belgian club KRC Genk for longer. The 24-year-old right-back from KRC Genk has been kept in view by PSV scouts for some time. The Moroccan international is seen as the ideal and virtually identical successor to Sergiño Dest. KRC Genk is reportedly demanding a transfer fee of around €15 million for its defender, who has already repeatedly indicated that he would like to make a move this summer.
According to Italian media, the right back of KRC Genk is now in the clear focus of AS Roma, which is increasingly directing its sights on the Eredivisie. PSV typically only moves when Sergiño Dest is sold. However, it hasn’t gotten to that yet.
The Roman club sees something in El Ouahdi. The Moroccan international made quite an impression last season at KRC Genk, which is also reflected in his statistics.
According to Italian media, Genk has agreed with El Ouahdi and his agents to cooperate in an exit when an interesting and not-to-be-refused offer comes in. The Belgian club thereby sets a asking price of around fifteen million euros. Roma targeting the Eredivisie more and more makes sense. If Genk and his agents agreed to work on a move only for a non-rejectable bid, PSV must be ready to match it quickly. Otherwise, this will feel like Dejavu all over again.

El Ouahdi as Dest successor? On paper it sounds spot on, but Roma doing a "second time dwarszitten" would be nasty. How fast can PSV pivot if Roma comes with a serious offer? 👀
idk tbh, El Ouahdi klinkt als die "bijna dezelfde opvolger" waar we op gokken. Als Roma hem voor 15m pakt terwijl wij wachten op Dest, dan is het toch weer zo'n dom timing verhaal... 😅
If Roma really moves for El Ouahdi at 15m, thats a whole different ballgame. tbh i still think PSV should pre-empt Dest departure, not wait for the transfer domino effect. 🔥
Roma die weer opduikt voor El Ouahdi. Als Dest nog niet weg is, vind ik het wel logisch dat PSV afwacht, maar 15 miljoen is ineens wel heel concreet. Hoop dat we niet achter het net vissen.
