“Former PSV player returns to the Netherlands”
1 min readIn 2015, Jordy de Wijs made his debut in PSV’s first team under Phillip Cocu. In the lost Champions League match against VfL Wolfsburg on 21 October 2015, the defender came on more than a quarter of an hour before full time for Simon Poulsen.
Nevertheless, a real breakthrough for De Wijs in PSV’s first team failed to materialize, and the defender therefore played the bulk of his matches for Jong PSV. In the winter of 2017, De Wijs was loaned to Excelsior, and in the summer of 2018, the defender left for Hull City in England.
After three years at Hull City, the defender left in 2021 for London club Queens Park Rangers. After a season at QPR, De Wijs moved to Germany to play for Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he has barely had the chance to feature this season.
That makes the chance fairly high that the former PSV defender will leave this summer for the club from Düsseldorf. De Brabants Dagblad reports that fellow province club RKC Waalwijk has shown interest in the long defender

The Waalwijkers work hard on a transfer for the 31-year-old De Wijs. ''The signatures have not been put yet, but it seems to be heading in the right direction,'' the outlet reports.
