So PSV prepares for the 2026/2027 season
1 min readA number of PSV players are now preparing to represent their country at the 2026 World Cup. That does not mean that Peter Bosz’s team will prepare for the new season without these internationals.
On the contrary: PSV has announced its preparations for the 2026/2027 season. Peter Bosz’s side will begin the new season on Monday, June 29, in the pursuit of the fourth consecutive national title.
Then PSV plays three friendly matches before the Bosz team travels to Germany on Monday 20 July for a training camp until Friday 24 July. These three friendly matches will be played on Saturday 4 July, 11 July and 18 July.
The opponents in these friendly matches are not yet known. On Saturday 25 July, the PSV FANday takes place and as a follow-up, PSV will play a match against Villarreal CF, just like in 2022.
On Tuesday 28 July, the traditional Light City derby will take place, where PSV will play at the Philips Stadium to compete for the Light City Cup against local rivals FC Eindhoven. PSV’s preparations will be wrapped up on Sunday 2 August when Peter Bosz’s team takes to the field at home in the battle for the Johan Cruyff Shield against Cup winner AZ.

"PSV FANdag" en daarna weer doorpakken met Villarreal zoals in 2022, dat is gewoon lekker hype. Als die 4 landstitel op rij echt het doel is, dan moeten ze Villarreal en AZ-sterk team serieus nemen, geen slappe tests, oké.
"De tegenstanders zijn nog niet bekend"... ja goed, maar geef me dan in godsnaam ten minste 1 ploeg die ons echt pijn doet op de counter 👀. Anders voelt het als te veel gemak en te weinig echte graadmeter.
tbh ik vind het slim dat ze de voorbereiding afsluiten met Johan Cruijff Schaal, maar tegen AZ is het altijd een test op tempo en druk. Bosz moet echt zien wie als echte leider kan staan in zo'n wedstrijd.
Lichtstadderby op 28 juli, Lichtstadcup, altijd lekker. Winnen die zooi in het Philips Stadion en dan direct door naar de Johan Cruijff Schaal tegen AZ, no cap 🔥⚽
Die trainingskamp in Duitsland van 20 tot 24 juli voelt logisch, maar 4, 11 en 18 juli als oefenwedstrijden is best druk. Hopelijk blijven we blessurevrij want 29 juni tot 2 augustus is een sprint.
Vierde landstitel op rij op 29 juni, bruh dat is echt druk. Als die internationals erbij wegvallen, moet Bosz wel snel een echte balans vinden, anders ga je vroeg punten verliezen.
Lichtstadderby op 28 juli en dan 2 augustus de Johan Cruijff Schaal tegen AZ, PSV gaat echt meteen door. tbh als je dan nog internationals moet missen, moet Bosz wel snel automatisme hebben.
Start maandag 29 juni... oké tempo. Maar die internationals op WK 2026, ga je daar niet te veel mee leunen in je voorbereiding? Toch liever dat ze de oefenmatchen gebruiken om nieuwe rolverdeling te slijpen.
FANdag op 25 juli en dan Villarreal zoals in 2022, dat is echt een leuke timing. Ik hoop vooral dat Bosz de automatismen dan al durft testen.
"Op maandag 20 juli afreist naar Duitsland" is altijd een goede reset. Tbh hoop ik dat Bosz dan meteen doorpakt met pressing en vaste looplijnen, want zonder een paar internationals is het ook een kans om automatisme op te bouwen. 🔥
Dat schema ziet er strak uit, 29 juni start, dan 20-24 juli trainingskamp in Duitsland. Benieuwd wie die drie oefenpotjes vult, want tegenstanders onbekend is wel spannend.
Ik vind het goed dat ze de Lichtstadderby op 28 juli plannen, dat geeft energie. Maar als het rooster rond die WK-afwezigheid niet klopt, ga je tegen AZ of bij de startperiode makkelijk punten verliezen. 👀
Klinkt best logisch: 29 juni start, dan trainingskamp in Duitsland tot 24 juli. Wel benieuwd wat voor niveau die 3 oefenpotten worden, want voorbereiding moet echt scherp zijn.
