“Peter Bosz on Jordi Cruijff’s wish list”
1 min readAfter a dramatic season, rival Ajax has presented the Spaniard José Miguel González Martín del Campo, also known as Míchel, as the new coach for the 2026/2027 season. Míchel thereby succeeds his compatriot Oscar Garcia.
Last season, in November Ajax released John Heitinga and in March Fred Grim likewise had to make way, after which Garcia was promoted by the club management from Jong Ajax to the first team of the Amsterdam club. In addition to Míchel, Peter Bosz would also have been on the list with Jordi Cruijff.
With this news, De Telegraaf is bringing it to the public. In addition to the current PSV coach, Cruijff would also have considered Arne Slot, who was just dismissed by Liverpool FC, and Pep Guardiola, who said goodbye as coach of Manchester City.
In February of this year, Bosz, who has been the coach of PSV since the summer of 2023, extended his contract through mid-2028 after weeks of speculation about a possible appointment as Netherlands national team coach for Oranje. It is also no publicly known secret that Cruijff is a fan of the playing style of PSV’s current coach.

''Pep Guardiola, Peter Bosz en Arne Slot bleken om diverse redenen niet haalbaar''... no shit. Wat me vooral opvalt is dat Cruijff Bosz dus inhoudelijk echt respecteert, dat is toch wel lekker voor PSV. Nu focus op resultaten, want speculatie is leuk tot het seizoen begint.
Peps niet haalbaar, Slot net ontslagen, Bosz te lang vastgelegd... dan snap ik wel dat ze met Míchel doorpakken. Alleen frons ik wel bij Jong Ajax-spawn, want Ajax gaat niet zomaar draaien zonder echte stabiliteit.
🔥😅 Bosz blijft dan toch gewoon bij PSV, goed nieuws voor ons. Maar wat als Cruijff Slot of Guardiola probeerde, zou ajax dan echt zo snel resultaat willen... of is het vooral paniek na weer zo'n dramatisch seizoen?
Als Míchel inderdaad komt, dan is Ajax gewoon van het ene experiment in het andere beland. Frustrerend voor ons, maar Bosz zit veilig. Gewoon lekker doortrainen en laten zien dat PSV geen tussenstation is. 🚀⚽
Die zin dat Bosz "niet haalbaar" was zegt eigenlijk genoeg. Als je een trainer met een plan en grip op PSV al verlengt, dan koop je die niet even door. Tbh ben benieuwd of Cruijff straks dezelfde stijl wil of gewoon de bankrekening laat praten.
"Pep Guardiola, Peter Bosz en Arne Slot bleken om diverse redenen niet haalbaar"... ja logisch. Als je PSV ziet dit seizoen, dan snap je dat Cruijff niet zomaar Bosz kan losweken. Ajax had moeten doorpakken in de zomer, niet in 2026-2027 denken ze.
tbh Bosz op het lijstje bij Cruijff zegt genoeg over hoe PSV speelt. Maar als ze Pep en Slot ook noemen, dan is het gewoon schaal springen. Bosz heeft gewoon een contract tot 2028, fair play.
Als ze echt naar Arne Slot en Pep Guardiola hebben gekeken, dan was het plan waarschijnlijk toch al moeilijk. Bosz blijft voor mij de beste match qua voetbal, maar goed, blijf vooral PSV-erkenningen krijgen van rivals haha.
Bosz niet haalbaar voor Jordi, eerlijk is eerlijk. Contract tot 2028 en dan toch hopen... Ajax altijd dramatisch. Maar ja, als Slot en Pep ook ineens "niet haalbaar" zijn, klinkt het meer als wishful thinking dan realiteit. 🤡
Bosz verlengen tot 2028 was echt een masterstroke. ''niet haalbaar'' is dan dus precies wat Cruijff en Ajax hadden gehoopt te omzeilen. Hopelijk blijft Bosz nog lang hangen, want die speelwijze past bij PSV.
tbh als Ajax dit soort moves doet, snap ik de paniek wel. Maar Bosz bij Cruijff op het lijstje klinkt vooral als een grote compliment... we weten allemaal dat het uiteindelijk bij contracten stukloopt.
