PSV fans point to Ronald Koeman: “What a terrible man”

It will have escaped almost no one in the Netherlands that Joey Veerman has said that national coach Ronald Koeman no longer needs to call him up for the Netherlands national team. After the match PSV - FC Twente (5-1), Veerman, for ESPN’s cameras, said he is done with the fact that the coach keeps emphasizing the midfielder’s character.

Two months ago, the national team coach was still inducted into the Walk of Fame in the Philips Stadium due to his record as a footballer and coach of PSV. Last week, however, Koeman couldn’t help but, in a sense, take a swipe at Veerman.

This creates bad blood among many PSV supporters and on the social media platform X, the suggestion has therefore also been put forward to remove Koeman’s tile from the Walk of Fame. A selection of reactions.

It is so disrespectful tbh. Joey literally gave PSV a 5-1 statement and Koeman still comes with that character talk.

Ik snap echt de frustratie bij PSV. Koeman preekt altijd over "karakter", maar laat tegelijkertijd zien dat hij Veerman niet serieus neemt. Na 5-1 en zo'n reactie blijft het wrang.

Tbh ik snap de woede bij PSV, want Veerman liet gewoon zien wat hij kan. Maar "karakter blijven hameren" is ook zo'n ding, als je tactisch iets mist dan is het toch geen persoonlijk verwijt. Koeman moet gewoon stil zijn en voetballen laten spreken.

Joey zegt dat Koeman hem niet meer hoeft te bellen en dan gaat die ook nog sneers uitdelen in PSV context... echt respectloos. Na 5-1 moet je ballen hebben om zo door te blijven praten. 👀🔥
