PSV player chosen as Eredivisie Player of the Year
1 min readOn Monday evening, the Eredivisie Gala was held, at which the Player of the Year was also chosen. Ismael Saibari was chosen as Player of the Year and, among other things, kept Joey Veerman, his teammate, behind him.
Saibari had a strong season for PSV this time and, after a modest start, grew into an important pillar for Peter Bosz's team. Thus, the midfielder scored a hat-trick at De Kuip during the top match against Feyenoord (2-3), and the Moroccan international also showed up in the home game against FC Utrecht (4-3) after PSV had fallen behind 0-2 within a quarter of an hour.

In an interview with Voetbal International, Saibari said he was pleased with the recognition, but also believed that Joey Veerman was entitled to it as well. In addition, Veerman was chosen by that same publication as Player of the Year, while the Moroccan had already received it earlier from VoetbalPrimeur and De Telegraaf.
There is a strong chance that the PSV player will leave after this season. It is expected that the midfielder will first get ready with Morocco for the World Cup, after which there is a strong likelihood that a transfer will follow.

i snap wel waarom ze Saibari kiezen, maar tbh Veerman was ook constant. Die cijfers 19 goals en 9 assists zijn gewoon goated, alleen jammer als hij vertrekt.
Die quote dat Joey ook recht had snap ik wel. Alleen als je ziet wat Saibari in die toppers deed, dan is Speler van het Jaar wel logisch.
Jammer dat hij erna mogelijk vertrekt, maar tbh je ziet dit seizoen echt zijn niveau omhoog knallen. Alleen wel eerlijk: Veerman heeft ook gewoon kwaliteiten, dus die keuze voelt nipt, maar logisch.
Saibari deserved it tbh, those Feyenoord games were different. That comeback vs Utrecht too after 0-2 down was pure level. 🔥
