Will Ivan Perišić follow in Luka Modrić’s footsteps?
1 min readThe Croatian superstar Luka Modrić is sticking one more season on. That is reported by AC Milan in a statement on social media. The now 40-year-old Modrić shows no signs of stopping and is therefore still regarded as in peak physical shape.
The Croat would like to play for AC Milan under the new coach Ruben Amorim and so a new contract has been agreed upon in Milan. Luka Modrić played last season as well as Ivan Perišić in almost every match under Massimiliano Allegri. However, the experienced Italian coach was sacked after missing out on Champions League football.
Meanwhile, at city rival Internazionale, people are once again thinking about the arrival of Ivan Perišić. At least, that’s what Italian media reported over the weekend. PSV would like to keep the Croat on his contract, but the question is still whether the 37-year-old Perišić himself has other plans. Does Ivan Perišić follow the example of his three-years-older countryman by simply continuing with top football for the coming years on the highest European stage, or does the Croatian PSV player actually not feel like going on until he’s forty?
Perišić sees up close how his compatriot, even at the age of 40, is still able to hold his own easily in Serie A. The 40-year-old compatriot of Perišić seems by now to have played what will be his last international for Croatia.

Im not convinced by the midfield setup tbh. The article says theyre controlling games, but when the press starts, theres too much space between the lines and opponents turn it into runs behind.
"PSV Inside" always makes it sound so confident, but ngl i want to see more end product from the wide areas. Too many times it turns into crosses with no runners in the box 🤦♂️.
If we are serious about pressing, Sangare has to be the trigger. When he stays too deep, we invite counters and it looks like we play into the opponent's tempo.
Bro, if PSV really wants to be more direct, they gotta trust the ball into the box faster. Right now it feels like the final pass is always half a second late, and you can see it in their chances.
