Transfer journalist points out PSV to forward: "Nice player for PSV"
1 min readPSV versus AZ. For decades, PSV has been taking players from the club in Alkmaar. Yet in recent years it has been going very laboriously. The negotiations with the club in Alkmaar often run poorly and require a lot of time and patience. The transfer of Ruben van Bommel to PSV proved a good example of that.
PSV paid no less than fifteen to sixteen million euros for the son of PSV icon Mark van Bommel. Not long after, Sven Mijnans was also linked to PSV. According to technical director Max Huiberts, PSV did not follow the rules in doing so, because the club management would have first approached the player and his agent rather than first the club management of AZ. Furious, Huiberts turned out to be.
In short, it’s not easy doing business with AZ. If transfer journalist Mounir Boualin has his way, PSV will be signed by PSV again this summer. The journalist is charmed by Ro-Zangelo Daal. Over the past few weeks, Daal has indeed made a good impression at AZ. Boualin is a fan of the winger. This season, Daal is considered to have really broken through with AZ’s first team. Especially in the cup final against NEC, the left winger made himself known. "I really think Daal is a very good player," the journalist says.
Boualin thinks the 22-year-old Amsterdammer is a player worth keeping an eye on. But yes, AZ remains AZ, and negotiating with PSV is not a favorite pastime in Alkmaar. "I think AZ will sit high up in the tree, but that is a nice player for PSV. Really a nice player, but it is still too early."

We always struggle with AZ deals, but Daal actually fits the profile we need on the wing. Still, 15-16 million already sounds like PSV being dragged into AZ games.
The whole Huiberts story about rules being broken is exactly why transfers with AZ feel like a soap opera. If PSV can't play it the right way, then paying 15-16 million for a winger like this better come with clear competition-proof plans.
If Boualin thinks Ro-Zangelo Daal is a
Daal for PSV would be a nice low risk gamble, he looks direct and like he can actually beat a man. Boualin saying it might be "a bit too early" sounds fair though, because PSV will need to move fast if they want him.
