Third PSV player with a fixed buyout clause in his contract

1 min read

It has now become clear that PSV is facing a busy transfer summer. Earlier this week, it became clear that key player Ismael Saibari will be leaving for FC Bayern München and that Anass Salah-Eddine wants to go for his chance at AS Roma and therefore will not be definitively signed by PSV.

In addition, last week it also emerged that Mauro Junior would have a buyout clause in his contract and thus, for a fixed amount of around twelve million euros, seems able to leave PSV. The same applies to Joey Veerman, who must bring in a minimum of twenty million euros.

Now the Eindhovens Dagblad has released the report that Sergino Dest also has a buyout clause in his contract and therefore can also be taken for a fixed amount. Dest is currently preparing with Team USA for the 2026 World Cup and has, over the past few months, repeatedly expressed a desire to leave.

The ED also reports that the wing defender can leave for an amount between 23 and 25 million. ''If he is personally interested in the club that wants to buy him and wants a transfer, then PSV is presumably not in the way during part of the summer. The league champions must then agree to a sale,'' the newspaper writes about it.

Earlier this week, news also emerged that FC Bayern would be interested in Dest in addition to Saibari. The American international would be willing to make a move to southern Germany.

Bro that substitution timing was peak... or it was too late. The moment they hesitated, the tempo dropped and you could feel the pressure shift 🔥

"PSV Inside" is spot on about the build-up, you can see the spacing is better than last season. Still, we need more direct runs in behind, because teams are starting to set their line early and kill the progression 👀

Wie kijkt mee? honestly, the midfield setup decides everything for me. If Pepi and Luuk de Jong are both on, PSV should play more direct and stop overplaying in the middle 👀

Wie kijkt mee? 😂 Van der Hoorn being solid is cool, but imo the build-up still looks shaky under pressure. I want PSV to play faster and be more direct, thats where the goals will come from. 💯

"Veerman" being mentioned for dictating tempo is fair, but i want more courage from him in the final third. Give me one more early through ball, not always the safe option 👀. 3 points are nice, but the gameplan needs more bite.

BRO think about the way Bakayoko actually takes space, thats straight fire 🔥🔥. If they keep feeding him early, defenders start panicking. Peak PSV football.

"Inside PSV" vibes are strong, but tbh the midfield looked a bit too passive at times. We cant control games just by recycling possession, we need more pressure triggers, especially after turnovers.

"More bravery in the final third" sounds nice but its the same issue every time. We make one run, then slow it down and the chance dies. Either commit to the pass earlier or stop pretending we are dangerous. 🤬

Gakpo needs to shoot more instead of turning provider every time, thats the only gripe. When he hesitates, you can feel the momentum die 🤬

If PSV really went with that tighter 4-3-3, i love it. When the ball enters Veerman and he can face forward, its instantly faster. Still, they need more runs in behind, otherwise it gets predictable.

tbh im not convinced by the wide balance... if the fullbacks dont overlap on time, teams will just sit in and counter. Still, those quick combinations up front looked tasty 🔥⚽

Tbh I like Tillman, but in these games he disappears for 15-20 minutes. Feels like our left side gets no real threat when he starts drifting back. 👀

If PSV start pressing like they did in that phase, i can see the game opening fast. Xavi Simons must keep dropping between the lines, otherwise their build up gets stuck.

tbh i like the lineup idea, but im not convinced about the winger tracking. If they dont collapse back fast enough, the fullback is gonna be left alone 1v1 all game 💀

If PSV wants control, we need more tempo from the midfield, not just side-to-side passes. Luuk de Jong pressing is good, but the ball has to move quicker to lock teams in. 🔥

If PSV go with that high press again, i actually think it can work, but only if Sangare screens properly. Otherwise you get those easy turnovers in midfield and AZ will punish us.
