Sven Mijnans officially a PSV player, speaks out about the million-euro transfer

The transfer of Sven Mijnans to PSV is completely finalized. Mijnans is joining for thirteen million euros from AZ and signs a contract through mid-2031.

The midfielder will play for PSV wearing squad number 21, which was worn last season by Myron Boadu. On PSV’s club channels, Mijnans says he is happy with the transfer.

''This feels like a perfect next step in my career. PSV is a wonderful club with a clear vision, strong leadership and top facilities'', says the newly signed PSV player.

Mijnans is looking forward to playing in the Champions League the most. ''In addition, you play here every season for the prizes. You can taste in everyone the hunger to go all out next season for the fourth league title in a row. I am happy to contribute to that. Besides, playing in the Champions League is something I have dreamed about since I was young and I am really looking forward to it'', the midfielder continues.

The first summer signing also builds on the choice of jersey number 21. ''This number simply appealed to me the most. Players like Paulo Dybala and Paul Pogba have successfully worn it in the past, so hopefully I can continue that tradition'', Mijnans said.
