“He immediately sent a message to his agent after the World Cup elimination”

1 min read

Ronald Koeman is head coach of the national team and we were actually all waiting for it. After the European Championship in Germany, which had in fact gone badly in terms of play, the KNVB should have immediately intervened regarding Ronald Koeman’s position, he himself gave himself an eight.

In Germany, Orange fell behind in almost every international match against Romania, chasing the facts. In virtually every match, Koeman had to repair his tactical ideas, which, however, hardly succeeded. The Koeman era is at least over after the final tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and that is something to be called a good thing.

His departure had not involved too many formalities, but caretaker Rob Jansen appears never to be reluctant to provide some openness. For instance, Jansen would have received a message immediately after Oranje were eliminated at the World Cup from Ronald Koeman. The agent of the national team coach says that the trainer ‘wanted to talk’ and that the discussion will take place on Tuesday.

“I have a meeting with him in a moment. He’s going to call shortly. And that’s not a joke, by the way. He texted last night that he wants to talk for a bit. So as soon as the time allows, we’ll talk together for a moment.” According to Jansen, Koeman “wanted to discuss what to do,” revealed Jansen the conversations after the Netherlands - Morocco match.

Immediately after the match against Morocco at the World Cup, Koeman’s future was the subject of conversation. At the press conference, he still didn’t want to say anything about a departure. Jansen is still speaking up for Koeman. The agent finds it unfair that only the national team coach is held responsible for the decisions. “About the game. There is always pointing to the coach. On the bench are Wim Jonk, Ruud van Nistelrooij and Erwin Koeman. In the squad there are leading players at world level. It’s not one man who decides; that doesn’t exist. It has never been like this.”

💯 Broja was on it, but if nobody supports his second ball, it turns into a highlight reel for the opponent. PSV must press as a unit or we are cooked 🔥

What worries me is the wing-backs. If they are told to hold shape, we sacrifice overloads and the attack becomes predictable. Against teams that defend deep, that is mid.

"keep it simple" is nice, but simple is also how you get punished when we give the ball away in midfield. Need better positioning from Tillman there, he keeps showing for the pass too late.

"intensity and control" sounds nice, but control has to show up in the last 15 minutes too. Still, props to the way PSV managed the tempo after going ahead. 👀

I get the plan, but tbh the central spacing was mid at times. If teams like Ajax or Feyenoord press us earlier, those turnovers become dangerous real quick.

🔥💯 We actually looked like a team that wants the ball, not just a highlight reel. And when the fullbacks pushed, it opened everything up.

Eens. Memorable performance incoming? If the article is right about the 4-3-3, Lozano better start running at fullbacks, not drifting inside.

That quote about "intensity" is spot on. Tonight PSV were fast in the first 20 mins, especially when Xavi Simons could turn and go. But defensively we need the same intensity every time, not only when we get the crowd going.

If PSV keep playing like this on the wings, Luuk is gonna feast... but i still dont trust the midfield balance. We look great going forward, then it gets shaky when the press breaks.

ngl i like the idea of stretching the game with the wide mids, but if Sangare sits too deep again we lose control in transitions 🤡

If PSV really plans to keep building from the back, they need Saibari to be that extra outlet. Otherwise Dortmund-style pressing will trap us and itll get ugly fast.
