Beautiful hit by Noah Fernandez caught on camera | ESPN: “Cut it out now”
1 min readPSV drew 1-1 in a friendly match against Royal Antwerp. It was the first pre-season friendly of the season for PSV. Peter Bosz's team was, of course, not yet fully available due to the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The one who did not miss was Noah Fernandez, who looks well on his way to a starting lineup berth for what season 2026-2027 has in store. The Belgian midfielder scored a beautiful goal on Saturday afternoon, which could count on a nice play on words from ESPN.
Fernandez put the ball in the corner, but the way he did it was in fact outstanding. After the break, Alassane Pléa made his return after a long period of injury trouble. Joey Veerman also came on. After more than an hour, Antwerp levelled the score. After the equalizing goal, the Belgian side got better into the match, but that did not lead to any great chances. Both teams were still able to create some danger, but a second goal remained out of reach for both clubs.

Was het al met al het soort wedstrijd waar je veel uit leert? Antwerp had na die aansluiting meer grip, maar echt grote kansen bleven weg. Ik ben benieuwd hoe het eruit ziet zodra PSV met de echte basis 90 minuten vol kan drukken.
"Kappen nou" moet je bij dit soort goal gewoon zeggen 😂⚽. Als Pléa en Veerman snel fit blijven, dan kan Bosz straks echt gaan schuiven met opties.
1-1 klinkt netjes maar na de 1-0 voelde PSV soms net iets te slap in de controle. Antwerp kwam er na rust beter in en dan had je meer rust in je spel verwacht. Wel positief: Fernandez maakt het verschil.
Krijg al dat "kappen nou" gevoel bij ESPN, gewoon omdat het doelpunt zo af was. Pléa terug na blessure, Veerman erin, dat is wel een mooie mix in zo'n eerste wedstrijd.
Noah Fernandez echt geniaal hoor. Die treffer in de hoek was wel peak kwaliteit, al is het natuurlijk een oefenpot. Toch geeft dit wel vertrouwen dat hij richting basisopstelling groeit.
